7-8 MIL per sounds fair to me. Unlikely we get a better replacement for that price so I would rather retain him and spend the rest on getting a starting SF.

I bet the Clippers would love to have him if they keep things together.

Last year Channing Frye gets 32/4, Jordan Hill gets 18/2 and Spencer Hawes gets the full MLE.

So yeah, I'd say Amir will get offered more than the MLE by somebody.

4 year with the last year as team option, 4-5.5 million frountloaded contract... just make it up with lots of incentive clause including staying healthy and such. His role will be our first big off the bench. If another team offered more we'll just have to let him go.

I'd let him walk, we are not winning anything here for the time being, we should be investing time into the development of Bebe to replace Amir.......

I wonder if he could be our Udonis Haslem and give us a big discount. Like UD did for Miami when he signed for 5 years 20 million dollars, but the market value for big man has changed drastically and someone will overpay him.

This poll tells you knowledge level of this board. $5M for AMIR? Amir is paid $7M now and his contract is considered bargain. Even if you consider Amir a bench player, a rotation big will command at least the MLE in this league. Factor in the huge upcoming increase in the cap, it is almost guaranteed that Amirs next contract will at least start in the $7M range.

amir is a warrior, energy guy that will play hard and work every game...but theres nothing he can do cus of the injuries, hes had to slow down no matter how much heart he has, and i dont see his game aging well too...hes still near perfect off the bench in that C/PF role though, would love and need him back imo

Honestly, the problem with Amir is I think he is done. I don't really see him getting healthy again and after watching him awkwardly play these last two postseasons I really am not that high on him moving forward.

I'd offer him 6-7 million and see what he says. Maybe bite on 8. Any team that offers him more than that can have him.

Something like 4 years in a salary ranging from 22-27m would be fair.

It's possible I guess.

The Frye deal was widely panned for making no sense. There's a chance another team gives Amir a bad contract, but I'm going to assume teams know what their doing. A risky proposition, I know.

Hill was re-signed by his team in a strange salary situation. Hawes was given the full MLE, and that's what I think Amir will get.

It's just that the kind of team likely to want Amir is probably not going to have a ton of cap space, and the teams with tons of cap space are not likely the ones who will want Amir.

Hope Amir gets a nice contract 6 to 7 million range 2 or 3 years just not with us! Right now he is a back-up on our team and we already have a back-up in Patterson we need a starter at PF.

I'd like to pay him 3/15, but, I think he's worth more than that. His injury concerns bother me, and I love Amir, he's a warrior, and I'd love for him to stay a Raptor. But, somebody will offer him more than that, and I hope he takes it, to cash in on maybe one more contact before his ankles are 100% shot at the age of 30.

I see him getting the MLE from someone, for 3 years. At that price, I wouldn't mind if he was back with the Raps, just as a bench player. Amir's days starting are through.

I was thinking around 6-7 but, I'm also the person who thinks just cause the cap raises that doesn't mean the same players should be paid more than before for identical or worse performance.

He's declined quite a bit and is clearly a shell of his former self.

Love Amir. He would make an ideal bench guy. 3 yrs at 6 mill per is the most I'd go though.

How can somebody be a shell of their former selves with essentially the same production?

You may be right about the good team/bad team thing. Although if Aldrige, Gasol or Millsap leave, they could be interested for more than the MLE. I could also see the Hornets and the Jazz. Or the Mavs if they can't do better.

That's off the top of my head. Not entirely sure of the cap situations for those teams.

Rather overpay him for 2-3 years than pay him over 4 years with the risk he declines rapidly. Maybe some type of of overpay for 3 years with the 3rd year being a team option (3/27? 3/30 seems high even with a team option). I am worried he is going to decline with his injury history and I hate signing role players for long terms. This of course is all based on which route the Raptors go this summer. If they can get an upgrade at PF you probably have to let him go (unless he signs really cheap). If they rebuild he's also probably not needed anymore. I'd risk playing the waiting game with Amir.
