Stat of the night..... JR Smith going 8-12 from beyond the arc. Cleveland needed a stupid game from JR Smith, Schroeder chucking up jumpers, Demarre getting injured, and obvious bad calls from the refs to steal game 1. I feel confident in us bouncing back. Korver was getting into a groove before that one bs call on a moving screen. We can win this series.

With Carroll healthy, I agree that we could make this is a series and regain homecourt, but I just don't see how in the world we can beat them without him.

I stopped watching after the 7th JR Smith 3. What an awful game: JR going nuts, the refs calling bull**** fouls on everyone (even the Cavs got a piece of the awful officiating), Pero getting minutes (did Bud not see our petition?), and Dennis looking like a complete idiot out there.

Seriously, Dennis needs to calm down/stop being so selfish, he's hurting the offense. I never thought that I'd say this, but Shelvin Mack may need to get some minutes.

Demarre is done, maybe for awhile. If its ACL, which î think it is, hes not playing next year either......

I'm not throwing towel in yet. Huge loss, but, bazemore will get his shoot now.

Ironically, I thought this was one of Dennis's more in control games of the playoffs. His passes were on point. He took what the defense gave him, he simply didn't hit his shots.

It's clear CLE was willing to allow the PGs to operate one on one in an effort to stay with shooters and cut off the dump offs on the drive and kick.

DS clearly has to knock down more of those shots. But in the 2nd half when Bud's matchups weren't particularly impressive and the whole team was missing jumpers (39% FG shooting), Dennis was one of the few Hawks looking really aggressive out there. (Along with Bazemore and Teague)

Didn't see the game, needed sleep.

Shot horribly. Dennis isn't a shooter, so having him shoot 3s is a big no-no.

No.

That's not close to what happened. Dennis took bad shot after bad shot, which were basically turnovers. Bad, out of rhythm, out of flow threes, weird drives where he should have swung the ball, weird pull ups when the D rotated and he had a open passing lane to set up the next pass that would have gotten a open shot. No...dennis was horrid last night. He will play better, but there is no positive to take away from his dismal performance last night except maybe his solid defensive pressure.

You know I love you man but.........

-13. DS shot us OUT of the game. That Air Balled 3 when he was trying to show up Lebron :banghead: :banghead: Again, what DS does is make boneheaded , ME FIRST plays because he gets baited into being a 1on1 player. Its kind of annoying TBH. 2/10.....

Im ready to see Mack, sorry. DS plays ISO and crushes us in KEY MOMENTS. Hes just not ready.

Bottom line, AH and PM have to play better. HAVE TO. 16 Pts aint gonna do it Al. Did they stop PnPopping because I dont remember seeing it much in the 2nd half.

Knicks fan here, live in ATL and went to the game last night, was pulling for y'all.

How many moving screens do you normally get called for per game? I've watched a few Hawks games and a lot of NBA games like Game 1 WCF where Draymond Green tackled a guy on a screen with no call. The mysterious ultra focus on moving screens was absurd last night. That was some ticky tack nonsense that really hurt you guys.

For a team that makes a living setting perimeter screens and rarely ever gets called for moving screens in a leage where moving screens are rarely called (especially ticky tack ones) seems a little strange that y'all would get called for 4-5 in the ECF Game 1....

Grantland giving Korver the business for running out of LeBron's way during that dunk in the waning minutes (that may have clinched the game).

Slightly reminiscent of this:

I cant blame the Refs because thats part of the game. You have to be so good the Refs cant make calls like that. Its what you have to do to take down the champ aka king james.

Having said that, some pretty abysmal calls on the moving screens. I dont expect that to happen in game 2

Milsap was better than his stats say. Pero, not so much.

But the thing people are missing, Korver had 8 points wiped out by shady offensive foul calls. He had basically a 17 point, 7 rebound, 3 assist night. Teague also had a three wiped out by a offensive foul call.

Cleveland, amazingly, managed to not set ONE illegal screen the entire game. Imagine that.
