Don't get me wrong -- if you can actually get Durant, you jump on it. He's an all-time great player. We just don't have nearly the resources it would take. Three draft picks ain't gonna cut it. So any speculation on that front is pure fantasy.

im not really interested in durant. Im not saying he is old, but being injured all last year doesn't make me want to offer picks for him. We can just wait when he is a FA and offer him money.

Durant's not winning anything by himself so who do you pair him with? trading all of our picks leaves us with no assests....just money. He's having a hard time win with Goatbrook and Ibaka and cool roll players.

I will take my chances with a player like that. It's never going to happen, at least not via a trade, so it's a moot point. I'm just saying, if it actually did come down to these three picks for Durant -- again, pure fantasy -- you do that in a heartbeat. The No. 2 pick is no guarantee (see Hasheem Thabeet, Derrick Williams, etc.) and late round picks are always long shots. For one of the best scorers/shooters in history, that's a no-brainer.

Nothing's guaranteed I agree. Durants numbers are impressive sure, but where has that gotten him? And to now add a foot injury....Ill take my chances building through the draft like the spurs. Their run has been damn impressive. But if we are going to sign or trade for superstars We need to get a competitive team first then add a guy like Durant to put us over the top. I dont think you start with him. So in my scenario he is perfect for Wizards, they looked really really good in the playoffs this year. We are so far away Durant wouldnt do anything for us but sell tickets. He would be pretty stupid to want to come here at this point.

For sure. If we were getting a can't-miss, sure-fire Hall of Famer like Tim Duncan, then you'd be moronic to trade that away. Just like OKC will be moronic for trading KD away under any circumstances.

Also, I have a rule: Don't blame the guy doing his job. I'm going to pinpoint poor coaching, inadequate depth and, above all, a terrible run of injuries for OKC's shortcomings way before I'll even think about crapping on Durant. Dude is a f'ing killer.

Ultimately, though, I agree that we're so far from contending right now it doesn't do much good for either parties, although I'd love having a building block like that. Foot injury or no, he's still just 26.

"Karl is way better than Bynum," Metuchen (N.J.) St. Joseph High Athletic Director Jerry Smith said in February. "I don't want to talk negative about [Bynum] but there's no comparison whatsoever. This kid works, this kid is really the total package. He's one in a million."

Andrew showed his true colors as his career fell apart. Nothing but contempt for the dude.

Unless I mis-read the thread the going narrative was to trade all the pics for Durant. That means no Towns/Oka. that's why I made my comment

Yea don't trade any of our picks for KD. Develop them and then court him when he becomes free agent only year away

im not gonna bad mouth Bynum. When he was here, he was a vital piece in the winning of 2 championships. He really fell apart when he left here, but at least while he was a LAKER, dude gutted it out in situations. And I believe we got the best(whatever that means) out of him.

i still feel that we're going to still go after marc gasol for some reason

we'd not be picking up hill's option and we could always deal black and davis for a wing or guard that can properly spread the floor

Would you offer a couple of the lower picks for a guy like Lowry?

If we somehow landed Marc I'd still love to draft Jahlil.
If Marc and Z-Bo is a devastating big man duo I can see the same if not better with Marc and JAH.

Damn it has been a great F'n week! Anybody Else having the greatest week ever?

Having the #2 pick could make the Lakers even more appealing

Yeah I think I would, but If Mitch has another Clarkson in his bag or really likes Russell...

I wouldn't, at least not at draft time. Taking on Lowry takes us out of FA or at least take us out of the majority of our target options. PG are abundance in this league and we could always take the chance that Clarkson cont. to improve, we really lack a solid 3/d wings.
