It makes me question why Karl said it in the first place. I thought Karl was just trying to get DeMarcus to step up off the court, be a better leader and motivate him that way and not give him a sense of entitlement. If Karl is getting old and not knowing what he's doing I can't feel comfortable about that

Vlade is probably just sick of Bill Simmons calling him.

Checked other kings boards and there is little outrage with Karl potentially fracturing the relationship with Cuz. I will just assume then for now that it isn't a serious situation

I'm glad Divac said something publicly. Deflate those rumors and show Cousins the Kings are loyal and not afraid to show it. Divac's statement should go a long way with Cuz and I'm not too concerned with any type of Karl fallout.

I don't think Karl's comments were wrong by any means. I get the thinking behind what he said, I just think the platform where he said it was inappropriate. Keep that in house and Divac won't be forced to circle the wagons publicly to correct comments that shouldn't have been made.

Media making much ado causing people to try to read between the lines. Of course there's no mention about how Karl has also publicly called DMC one of the most talented players he's ever coached. And with George Karl, that's not saying nothin'!

I don't think either comment was off base or contradictory. I just feel Divac is making it known he has the final word.

Saying someone is untradeable is like saying you can't be bought. You don't know how you will react to it til you're face to face with the offer.

He's a young, 24 year old superstar on a good three year deal, maybe already the best center in the league. It would be very hard for another team to be able to and want to come with equitable value that the majority of Kings fans would feel comfortable with. This is a player who can be one of the top 5 players in the league, and that's how most of us, and probably the FO, feel about him

Taking into account age, potential, team support and system, I have the top 5 as Lebron, Harden, Curry, AD, Westbrook. For top 10, when healthy, Durant, Irving, George and Rose are in the conversation and Paul and Howard, are on the fringe moving down and Cousins, Griffin, Leonard and Wall on the fringe moving up. With all that said, I AGREE with everything that you said.

He can be a top 5 player in the league. It would be hard for a team to offer fair value for him. Whether the fans feel comfortable should be very low on the scale when making moves to improve the team when we have performed as we have for the last 12 yrs. The NBA is about collecting assets that fit together to make a overall great team/product that can win consistently IMO. I believe we need to look at Cousins as an asset because this is a business (isn't that what is always said we a team or player overlooks loyalty in favor of money). A very valueable one but a asset.

Carmichael Dave and Deuce talking about how Cuz and Karl haven't really spoken of late. I hope Karl isn't repaying our generosity of giving him a job by alienating Cuz, I will assume this picks up

Isn't Cousins holding a basketball camp in Taiwan for the past week or so?

I think I heard he might be. On today's show though they were going on about it like it was an issue. Bringing up some questions as "who should call who first", etc

On the topic of "who should call who first" deal, it has to be Karl, no? The guy needs to lay the framework for his players for next season. Although, Cousins is the franchise player, Karl has seen it all and should have obligation to talk to Cousins.

I'd say Karl be real and tell Cousins this is his last shot, he can't succeed without him, and wait till camp opens and leave it at that.

If true, this is one of the many reasons why Karl was a gamble.

Media is all "much ado about nothing". Is anyone here actually suggesting that George Karl does not know how to deal with his players?
