I dont blame Korver for getting out of the way, if you watch the Vine he thought someone was coming backside to help and he had to chase the shooter in the corner on the pass. There was NO ONE home, imagine that.

Slightly reminiscent of this:
Oh, Kyle...
Except Kyle didn't run. After Lebron picked up his dribble that far out, took a step then faked a pass, the only logical play he could have made was to pass to a shooter...you know since he would have to jump off the next step going full speed basically from the middle of the key.
Except he took 2 more steps. Because...um...because.

Re: PT: Hawks v.s. Cavaliers - ECF
Refs definitely made some bad calls last night. But they went both ways. A couple (the offensive foul on Millsap particularly) were blatant makeup calls.
At the end of the day, Hawks shot more Free Throws than Cavs. Millsap shot more Free Throws than LeBron.
LBJ even had a span where he simply missed 6 FGAs in a row on offense in the 4th. Meanwhile, we went 4-23 on 3PT attempts.
That's where the game was lost.
Neither team looked particularly impressive.
Cavs just had the best player in the world to bail them out (in the end.) We did not.

Having said that, some pretty abysmal calls on the moving screens. I dont expect that to happen in game 2
Agreed, Hawks have to get the 3rd and first half of 4th quarter's figured out. It's one thing to play like garbage during that time against the Wiz, it's another to do it against the Cavs, that's not gonna fly.
Hopefully Mike Scott gets out of your doghouse because Paul Millsap is absolute trash out there right now if he has to guard Lebron in spot minutes giving Bazemore a rest.

Yeah I'm not blaming the refs, because Kyrie did get murdered on a drive in the first and Lebron did get fouled on that fast break. It wasn't all bad calls against us.
But those THREE offensive fouls that Scott Foster called in a row and all of them were pretty bad calls, then missed the call on mozgov committing what I am pretty sure was a intentional foul to stop Horford from rolling to the basket...thos 4 turnovers in a row erased pur lead, killed momentum and flow. Then the other two in the 2nd half were pretty bad as well, again, at really inopportune times.
That said, if Smith doesn't go insane, we still win this game. If he goes 8-12 4 more times, my hat off to him. I just don't think it will happen.

Re: PT: Hawks v.s. Cavaliers - ECF
So, if DMC is out, who is guarding Lebron? Im assuming Bazemore steps into the Starting Lineup. BUT, who becomes the backup SF? Scott? we are now EXTREMELY thin at SF with Thabo and now DMC out.
I do NOT want Millsap on him at all, hes going to get in WAY too much foul trouble. Let Lebron go off. I dont care. You cannot have JR smith go bananas. Stop the role palyers, PERIOD.

I personally, and this is going to be strange coming from ME of all people, would rather start Muscala, Horford, Milsap, Korver and Teague.
Thompson is basically Center footspeed in a of body, so Al should still be able to exploit his strengths. Muscala can still stretch the floor, and Millsap can guard Lebron on the block. For all the fawning over Lebron the announcers were doing and saying Millsap couldn't guard him, he did a fantastic job making Lebron miss or turn the ball over (I think) 6 times down the stretch. He isn't going to go full Iso early in the game like he did at the end, so the matchup would work. I don't think this will happen as Baze will clearly get the start, but it should be a lineup to consider.

I don't think we've had a single blowup game from 3 since game 1 of that Brooklyn series. Every game I keep telling myself that we're due, that one of these games we'll go off from 3, but it just never happens.

I agree but you have to know that PM will get into really bad foul trouble, anyone who guards lebron gets those cheap 1-2 fouls EARLY.

Which is why I don't want Bazemore on him. We are literally out of wing players. He gets in foul trouble I guess you can try and get away with Scott who is a great post defender but god awful when faced up...but at least we have a bit of depth left at the 4 with Muscala, Pero, and Brand if need be.

Ahhh I see what you are saying. If im Bud, im saying BACK OFF Lebron, give him the jumper. Force him right and let him shoot outside. Back off and give him 5 feet.

I've watched this thing like 20 times.
I don't see it. LBJ took two steps. In-between he faked a pass. Korver dove out of the lane.
It's not the reason we lost. It's not even the biggest blunder on the play. (Why the heck would AL run all the way out past the three point line?)
But clearly this play ain't going on KK's all time defensive highlight reel...

Re: PT: Hawks v.s. Cavaliers - ECF
You know who I'd love to see us put on Lebron for a quarter? Just out of nowhere a young, athletic, fleet-footed, strong PF.
A young guy quick enough to not get run past. Strong enough to body King James. Long enough to bother him in the paint...
Adreian Payne. I don't think he shuts LBJ down. But I guarantee you that'd be a matchup the Cavs were completely unprepared for on both sides of the court.
Just a random thought. A young player with his strength, athleticism and length is something we do not have on this team. A player like that could cause some serious mismatches against a thin CLE front line.
Any chance we can trade Austin Daye to CLE for Shawn Marion in the middle of the series? He'd definitely get more opportunity with us than he is with the Cavs.

Lets give this team some credit too guys, everytime their back has been against a wall, they have won. Maybe luckily, maybe not pretty, but they have won.
they know what they have to do on Friday, I dont care how, just do it. Control the turnovers, hit your shots, attack the paint. Period.

I can't believe that wasn't an acl tear. I was so sure it was after seeing multiple tears happen in my life. Great news for DeMarre though. However I still think he's out for the rest of the series and I'm still sticking with my CLE in 4 prediction. Hope I'm dead wrong though.

Spectacular news for Demarree! Idc that he's out for the series, he's been working hard his whole career and absolutely deserves to get a bit of a pay day, I'm thrilled that this isn't something long term that would hinder his pay.

Watching this, honestly, thats Al Horfords screw up. Why are he and Millsap trying to guard Lebron and Tristan Thompson 8 feet outside the arc on a PNR? Why? WHY WHY!????

I asked that same thing like 8 million times during the process of Al following TT out that far. You would have thought PM was Kwaihi Leonard and TT was Ryan Anderson on that play.
