based on King fans response it would take that 2nd pick, Randle, future picks, maybe even 50% ownership of the lakers before they even consider trading Cousins

Really? Isn't he unhappy in SAC . When can he walk?

3 more years, he can't do jack ****...just like when Kobe demanded us to trade him.

Not sure what you mean by going fishing, but I completely agree with the ideal of surrounding young guys with a lot of wily vets.
Just means it's no pressure to get that pick exactly right. I'd still like us to find a talented player that fills a need though. Maybe we could steal Tyus Jones or get Hollis-Jefferson who's a natural 3. We have options is what I'm saying.

Realistically, whose going to be available in trade that's going to be worth moving down (or out of) in the draft? I can't think of any players that makes it worth passing on a potential franchise player. Philadelphia is probably content taking one of Russell/Mudiay, New York doesn't have enough of assets to jump back up to #2, Orlando doesn't need to add one of the big men with Vucevic on a very team friendly deal, and if you go back any further than that the quality of draft pick goes down tremendously. And in terms of the trade market, what do you propose? I can't think of any youngish players available via trade that puts the Lakers back in playoff contention, let alone title contention. Take whoever falls between Okafor/Towns, and roll with them moving forward. Nothing wrong with building a young core we can contend for the next decade.

I wonder how much we could move up in the draft if we packaged Houston's pick with our second rounder. There's a couple guys that are projected to go in the latter half of the first round that I really like (namely Tyus Jones and RJ Hunter).

I don't want the Lakers to trade any of these picks. As I told ALL HAIL about the "fishing" statement I meant that we don't have to nail it to an exact need. Maybe draft a player that becomes an asset down the line.

No doubt about it...this is gonna be a great draft for us, but it's not going to vault us into any type of contention. Guys need to slow that talk down. We're gonna have a lot of work to do.
