Kupchak says teams interested in 2nd pick

Post#1 » by PKABOOICU » Sat May 23, 2015 2:32 am

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... er=ya5nbcs

he was quoted saying that, a team with either the 5th, 6th or 7th pick (not being specific on purpose) has inquired about moving to the #2 pick. He says that the mystery team knows that the lakers know who they are targeting with 2nd pick, hence, the price for that pick would be very high.
WHO HAS THE 5TH, 6TH, 7TH PICK AND WHAT ARE THE LAKERS OPTIONS???

nm...its orlando, sac, or denver...one of those teams is interested in either okafor or russell...my gut feeling is its the denver nuggets looking to pick up jahlil okafor, but probably have no trade assets

thats what i was thinking...they are probably trying to dump lawson because he's gonna walk anyway...so they might as well have traded up for the pick

Mitch is a stone cold killer when he has a semblance of leverage. He's going to butt rape someone without lube if a trade comes up for that pick.

btw OP I think you misinterpreted what Mitch said, he didn't say those teams made any offers, he said IF a team in those spots were looking to move up it would be costly.

I think something is actually in works, I think Den is trying to move up by dumping Lawson and Faried, players we obviously don't need.

Lawson Faried and 7 for 2 and Hill

Can Mario impress that much in workouts or Winslow fall

LMAO...Mitch knows the value of this pick, and I know he won't just fork it over just for us to be cleaning up somebody else garbage. No of those said teams have nothing even remotely functional that I'd want. Those teams can go suck on a tail pipe as far as I'm concerned.

The article was laid out in a hypothetical scenario. C'mon OP....the title clearly say " Lakers Not Trading Pick".

I also heard that Cowheard interview, he was trying to goad Mitch into giving up his plans and Mitch just rejected everything Cowheard was spewing out.

If by some chance it was cousins for 2 though and they had a grand plan in sac to rebuild, you do it

We need way more than just DMC to get back into contention, and it would still take years. I wouldn't trade the pick if we're still not going anywhere after trading for even one good player.

I would hope that in a scenario where they give up 2 even for Westbrook or Cousins they have another thing ready right after like Cleveland with Love. I'd hope they would retain randle and lock down a second star immediately. They can't be bad, they have to be competitive at some level next year for the fans and twc to attract a new star in 16 and justify prices

Lakers won't trade the 2nd pick unless it's for a major star like Durant, Westbrook, etc. I'd love for the Lakers to get Ty Lawson but not for the 2nd pick.

Personally I think the Lakers should just keep the pick and draft Towns or Okafor.
