Re: Trade thread
I understand this is a fans trade thread, but mocking up trades that involve drummond make no sense, as he is the only player, that Detroit just is not going to trade.
I certainly wouldn't trade him for any of these picks, period, but to each thier own I guess.
Trading up is interesting, but what do we lose in the process? Only one I like, is one already suggested, 8 and Jennings. Or 8 and some other bench guy.
No legit starters, or we just create another hole.

Sacramento would be giving up the better asset at every turn in that deal. No way they agree to it.

Cousins is one more year away from demanding a trade and when he does the Kings, whose ownership is trash, will get hosed
What about Drummond, #8, Jennings for Cousins and Stauskus and Thompson?
Kings get their franchise center and two top ten picks while dumping salary

I love Drummond, but I do that trade. I don't think they do it at all, like very, very small chance, but that percentage goes up a little if the Kings s*** the bed this year again.

Re: Trade thread
You couldn't get Cousins alone for Drummond, the 8th, and Jennings.
Drummond is our guy, and I don't want to trade him anyway, but the Kings general struggles seem to have masked how good DeMarcus is. Defensively, too.

Re: Trade thread
New York is in need of a starting PG, and probably doesn't wanna commit to Calderon beyond this season. I think we should take advantage of one more team's cap situation before the season starts.
I'd offer Jennings, Martin, and Bullock to the Knicks for Calderon and a future 1st rounder.
We're able to clear a few roster spots to give Granger (unless he's waived,) Thomas (who's progression I'm very impressed with,) and Miller (a very tantalizing talent who SVG seems to think highly of) a chance to battle it out for the last few roster spots.
Calderon would be a natural fit in SVG's system with his ability to run the high P&R, take care of the ball, and spread the court at an elite level. He'd allow Dinwiddie some more time to develop, and he'd allow us to play Jackson off the ball some if we need to.
Our lineup would look like this.
PG: Jackson, Calderon, Dinwiddie
SG: KCP, Meeks, Hilliard
SF: Morris, Johnson, Thomas
PF: Illyasova, Tolliver, Miller
C: Drummond, Baynes, Anthony
Sure, it's a long shot, but I believe that it'll be better for us to solve the Jennings situation ASAP and give other guys, who fit better with the rest of the team, a chance to make the squad. Also, it would be great to land some future picks. What say you guys?

Adonis Thomas lol, he's been playing for the drive the past year or so, and is being featured on on summer league team. He's been training with Pistons players all offseason.

Re: Trade thread
I think the possibility that Jennings returns to last year's mid-season form is enough to keep him instead of trading him for Jose Calderon. We were a very good team with Jennings running the point (minus Smith era) last year. If Jennings turns out to be worth anything, we could flip him before the trade deadline for more than Calderon's decaying game and a protected pick (I don't think they attach a first to dump Calderon. Also, injuries happen.

Jennings was comfortable in SVG's free flowing offense for sure, but keep in mind that Stan's system is built for PG's to thrive. Janet Nelson was an all star in this system. Skip To My Lou took them to the finals!!
The way I see it, Jennings doesn't exactly offer many complimentary skills to Jackson. Calderon is the better passer, shooter, and decision maker, so I feel like he would actually fit better with the rest of the team, even if Jennings can occasionally play at an all star level.
Maybe a 1st rounder is a bit steep, but there's no doubt that based on the talent swap, we're sending out more than NY.
Just my $.02
