I know this is harsh and he's my top player too, but the Curry love is a little nauseating.

I was already a fan of his before he blew up like this, so I'm certainly enjoying his individual run here in the playoffs.

I'd say the only thing that bothers me is a little too much historical talk when he's been on this level for 1 season, and the playoffs aren't over yet. Is there a good chance he comes away with a ring? Sure, but nothing's certain.

You also have no control over who you play along the way, but I selfishly would've liked to see GSW face the spurs or clippers.

Agree, and the bold is most of it. He's amazing, and as a player he's tough to dislike, but people are putting this in crazy terms. Oh, and the fanboys are a pain in the butt. There's like 20 threads on the gen board every night, I can't read anything without them getting in a pissing contest over something with someone.

Aren't you Russell Westbrook's biggest fan and you're complaining about fanboys?

I'm a fan, but I admit he has faults. I'm complaining about people calling this the greatest season of all time, and making Curry infallible.

There's really nothing different compared to this stretch of Curry's and Westbrook's triple double stretch in terms of board attention.

Except people still ripped Westbrook. And it is different. No one said Westbrook was having the greatest year in history, people said he put up great numbers. People are literally calling Curry the best PG of all time based on one season.

Maybe my memory is off but I definitely remember a lot of Westbrook is the best player in the league comments, and I haven't seen any substantial Curry is the best PG of all time posts recently either (if it's only one poster it doesn't really count).

I've seen more "Westbrook's triple doubles hurt his team" posts and less of what you're saying. I don't know how much you're around here, but the Curry talk is huge. And to be honest, its mainly a handful of posters who do it, so that skews it. I admit I can't root against the guy, he's great and too likeable, but sometimes a handful of posters ruin it for the bunch. :D

Kind of cherry picking right now, but a blowout is a blowout: Warriors have he second largest playoff MOV since 2001, trailing only the 08 Celtics per NBA.com

I think the best thing about Curry winning is that it dispels this nonsense that PGs can't be "the guys" on championship winning teams.

Yeah, they just need to simultaneously be the greatest shooter of all-time by a landslide. Piece of cake.

Um...shouldn't the best player on a championship team be amongst the greatest at...some aspect of basketball?

So is this the next level of argument? Oh, well Stephen Curry is an exception - he's the greatest shooter! The point still stands, if you're a point guard you can't be the best player on a championship team, you're just too small! Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson were also all time great shooters too I suppose.

Hey, a small forward cannot be the best player on a championship team unless they are phenomenal passers. That disqualifies all small forwards then, all like three of them.

Is this not a historical season from Curry though?

And he's playing the best ball of his career, but he was pretty spectacular and had a couple of great years in 13 and 14 before this. He didn't exactly show up out of nowhere. I thought his seasons in 2013 and 2014 were pretty historic in their own right tbh. I remember thinking I would take Curry in those years over 2011 Rose, for example.

You presented it as if Magic wasn't ''the guy'' when the Lakers were winning all those titles, so why would Curry dispel something that Magic already did 30 years ago in a different (perhaps hareder) era all together?

I didn't even get what you were saying because it was so nonsensical. It was on a level of PJax ''3 point shooting teams can't win championships'' or something.

I know Spaceman disagrees, but Lebron. Just Lebron. I'm telling you I don't see how he catches Curry, but I for one am extremely impressed.

Yeah not carching Curry, but making a push on Harden/CP. Not efficient, but had a fantastic game and willing them to win. Hate to say it, but it was a Westbrookish stat line.

Damn...To see LeBron's game being described as "Westbrookish", instead of Westbrook putting up "LeBronish" statlines...Maybe we should reconsider how good we think Russ really is? :)

Westbrookish is inefficient mind-blowing stat line, LeBronish is efficient mind-blowing stat line. It certainly looks like more Westbrookish to me :D
