Randle development

Post#1 » by LApwnd » Sun May 24, 2015 3:20 pm

How do you guys see him developing offensively now with potentially either kat or ok4? I know hes developing his perimeter game but does having either of those bigs force him to do more of that now? and will being more perimeter orientied be a bad thing for game in the long run?

Randle should be more perimeter oriented with his handle and foot speed. If he develops a more consistent shot which from all reports he's been working on, only thing that'll hold him back from being a beast will be his lack of right hand. Other than that, He has all the ability to be a star pf in the mold of the more modern definition of the postion.

His strongest ability is to finish inside, through contact like it's nothing. He roams in perimeter isn't exactly new thing for him, he loves to face up his defenders and drive inside.

i believe him and Okafor or KAT will be amazing duo. Look at Gasol and Zach, both are strong post player and co-exist pretty well.

to remind everyone why i'm so high on Randle + watching couple Kentucky and Lakers pre season games.

how can people so easily write him off.. i can't wait Randle to be healthy and shut up doubters.

Randle, by virtue of his sheer aggressiveness and phtsicaliyty will push Blake Griffin for "best PF in LA".

Like Blake Griffin, he merely must prove himself a competent defender.

He will continue to be, primarily, a driver; that's his game.

If Okafor's the pick, Randle will learn that Okafor will open up additional driving lanes ... while his jump shot evolves.

Indeed.

I had Randle as the number two prospect last year ahead of Parker and Wiggins.

He's an utter beast ...

... Although I'd still bring him along slowly off the bench so he can truly experience beating out a veteran.

Yea i know about marc/zach but to me it seems marc tends to post up less in order to let zbo do his thing this he shoots alot more mid range just like the gsw series...think gsw wanted marc to shoot more jumpers.

Some of the best teams ever had MULTIPLE post up players.

Hell, the Lakers posted up Magic, Kareem, and Worthy consistently.

With Marc and zach I think there's more overlap because although both are good mid range shooters, neither is going to beat you off the dribble from the perimeter. This limits their ability to initiate their own offense from anywhere other than the post, something that Randle will primarily do.

In terms of the media hype, endorsements, HOF status, Stats, all green font.

In terms of Lebron and Randle going head to head and being rivals for the next 5 years, thats what I expect to happen realistically.

Exactly what I was thinking when I lookes back at Randle's highlights. since comments on him were always on his strength and ability to overpower defenders, the assumption is his post game which is not really the case. Particularly in the preseason, he was driving and shooting the perimeter shots. On that aspect alone, he shoukd already be better than Jordan Hill. Having a guy like Okafor could only help divert attention away from him and vice versa.

Now we absolutely need shooters.

I wanna see him play like Draymond Green. A bulldog who's not afraid to back down, and leaves it all on the floor.

He's a little undersized, but he has a great mentality. He's far from a sure thing, so he's going to have to work hard to prove himself.

I have no idea because I've only seen him play in the summer league, preseason games and 10 seconds of an NBA game a year ago.

We will know what he can do halfway through the season
