Ty Lawson

Any way Indy could put 11 on the table and get back Ty Lawson without giving up a major rotation player? Is he better than any one that would be selected at 11? Thoughts...

We don't have the contracts to make it work without sending out one of Hill, West, or Hibbert, which complicates things a lot. And I personally wouldn't do 11 for Lawson even if we had the space. We really just don't need him and he doesn't really fit the team that well.

with the comments bird has said after the season that he wants to play uptempo I don't see why Lawson wouldn't fit with that style of play?

He's not that good. I'd rather have Payne with the 11th.

Same thing I thought when I saw that Lawson was available and thought about Bird and Vogel talking about playing at a faster tempo. Not many guards in the NBA would be better to run an uptempo offense than Ty Lawson. Also Indy was trying to trade back into the first round to draft Lawson the same year Hansborough was drafted so it isnt a stretch for Bird to still be interested. It was also rumored that Indy was interested in Lawson around the trade deadline. Its a real possibility that he could end up a Pacer.

I don't believe it
Was actually rumored that Pacers had interest in Lawson as much as a reporter said Indy should have interest.

Otherwise, Hill is better and with his poor contract situation and our lack of rookie contracts, I don't see it work. And we'd have to deal contracts of players we like, or Denver would have no interest in and overpay, so there's not much middle ground for a deal.

He's a defensive liability.
