If i was GM...

Post#1 » by geeman » Mon May 25, 2015 8:05 pm

My plan if I was GM
1) try to resign D. Carroll & Millsap
2) bring over Walter Tavares for bench
3) Go after Wesley Matthews, if heathy to start at SG or a player like him.
4) Bring Kyle korver of the bench (sg & sf) ~ 20min per
5) Save his legs, he’ll be 35 next year.
6) Try to trade Dennis Schroder and the 15th pick, for the kings 6th pick and draft Willie Cauley-Stein

We have an off-season thread started at the top to consolidate all this kind of talk. We'll see you there mate.

This is actually a pretty solid summer. Seems plausible across the board.

My concern is that simply bringing back the same major players and adding rookie bigs probably does not get us drastically closer to elite level of GSW and CLE.

Long term, I think Dennis has more value than Cauley-Stein (just my opinion).

But I could see our front office doing every bit of this and still losing in next year's conference Finals in 5 games because we still can't guard Lebron or control CLE's bigs in the paint.

but how much for millsap and carroll? that is the main issue. If im bringing back millsap I want him as the 6th man like he was in Utah then have a legit big starting next to horford.

I don't see us signing both Millsap and Carroll.... I think they are going to try to get a big paycheck considering they are both in their primes and will be past by their primes by the time their next contract comes around... I see Millsap going for near max and Carroll going for 8-10 million. Not saying they deserve it, but I don't see the Hawks management reaching to resign those guys.

Actually you need Walter Tavares out there right now.
