well, could Russell be the next Manu ?

Lol, the guy who never cracked 20 ppg, and was 3rd banana for most of his career is nowhere close to Kobe's level. Manu had skill, I love his euro step, and craftiness, but we're talking about comparing USA's arsenal to North Korea's.

It's not even close.

Manu is very underrated

I am sure Portland is stoked they took Oden over KD... The game has changed ladies... Who is Golden States center, how about Cavs... The NBA is a perimeter game now... Take Russell & enjoy our backcourt (Clarkson) for the next 10 to years...

BPA, PERIOD...

Now, I'm leaning more toward wanting Russell over Okafor (still don't believe it'll happen, but that's beside the point) but friend, I must ask you: Did OKC or GS become champions when I wasn't looking? Last I heard it was a team with one of the best bigs the game has known. Before that it was... Well, here's a list of the last several champions.

year Champion
2014 San Antonio Spurs
2013 Miami Heat
2012 Miami Heat
2011 Dallas Mavericks
2010 Los Angeles Lakers
2009 Los Angeles Lakers

Do you see enough of a definitive trend here to say that "the game has changed?" I don't

Size - be it in your bigs or an enormous small forward - matters.

Yeah taking BPA would have us taking Okafor over Russell. I was reading more scouting reports about the draft picks and I'm 100% convinced the Okafor is the guy for us. An underrated aspect of his game is his mobility. A big man that can run the floor and also take players off the dribble from the high post, but with a ridiculously refined post game. If we get a point guard that can dish him the ball he'll easily be a top 5 big man.

Not sure if joking... But regardless, we can use less of these kinds of posts here. Not more.

Lot's of concerns these days... I think we should have done a better job losing the pick so everyone could be at more peace with the universe.

nah hes right, manu is very close in ability and skills to both wade and kobe. his per minute production is incredibly close, as his RAPM during the mid and late 2000s. he just wasnt able to play the huge minutes and carry the same load as those 2, but dont get it twisted he had the talent and played a big role in all of the spurs titles.

nah its more like comparing Russia's arsenal (kobe) to the USA's (manu). one is **** massive while the other is also **** massive just not to the same proportion.

There's no bigman in the NBA that got a post move like Jahlil Okafor. The closest would be Al Jefferson but he is too slow..

Towns got a big upside

sum it up GO BIG in the draft there are a lot of wings that we can get for $$$$$

If talent level and potential impact is the same, we should go big. By the mere fact that we couldn't get a legitimate Center on our team last year is enough reason to go for a big. Again, if talent level is the same.

I want either Okafor or Towns and will be disappointed if one is not a Laker.
