The rest is LeBron bro.

I am the biggest advocate for draft picks. Wish we had Hinkie. You either need LeBron or lucky and incredible draft picks to win in this dominant league.

Listen, the Golden State Warriors could very well become a powerhouse, but you can't define contending as consistently making it out of the second round in one sentence and ID a team who has made it out of the second round once (this year) as an example of who you're talking about.

Undermines whatever else you have to say.

Bogut got hurt last year if you didn't remember. Warriors had it to come out of the West. He is their anchor and it ruined them. . Curry had busted ankles up until last year too.

This team has been a contender for atlas the past year, they just needed to develop.

So I can't say you have to build through the draft because the Warriors didn't win it all coming right out of the gate through all those injuries? Right bro. If the Warriors didn't have those 4 first round picks (Steph, Klay, Dray, Barnes) they'd be nothing.

Knicks are stuck here having to sign a prize of Greg Monroe now. You're right though, build through FA. Really works.

You need 6 key guys to have a contender. Unless it's LeBron, atleast 3 have to be legit guys you drafted. Knicks won't have that again until 2018. Thanks again Isiah, Grunwald, Walsh. Such a joke.

Actually, we're going to draft one guy this year and use our money to sign guys like Monroe and be #4 seed and non contender for forever.

You're making a common mistake. I take exception to a inconsistency in your argument and you assume I'm arguing the Knicks SHOULD sign Greg Monroe OR that I'm arguing against draft picks.

Why do people have to do that.

YOU said something specific, but what you didn't specify was that you're giving credit to GS for being a contender despite not qualifying per the criteria YOU identified.

I'd also remind what GS did with their 2013 and 2014 draft picks.

The Warriors don't exemplify the execution of a strategy. We can name more than a 1/2 dozen teams who picked in the lottery as often and with equal to average picks from 2009-2012 who didn't happen to pick Curry, Thompson and Green.

The Warriors got lucky. And yes, they gave themselves the option of being lucky by holding onto those draft picks, I acknowledge. But the Knicks could as easily be the Wolves or Kings or Jazz or Hornets or Pistons.

That's a statement of fact. It's not the argument of a side.

Trade 2018 protected 1-15 with Jose for a TPE.

Draft Mudiay.

Sign Aldridge.

Sign Green.

Sign Shved with Room Exception.

Shved - Mudiay
Green - Galloway
Melo
LaMarcus
Noidea Jones

Get by with any center and then sign one in 2016. Aldrich could still fit there.

Go have a beer with Isiah.

I have no problem building through the draft. The funny part is you thinking Hinkie is some visionary.

He's just a tool of his management. They want cheap young talent and have apparently given him a decade to show results. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to lose games and pick high.

Oh gotcha. Well Hinkie is my GM comparison. He's who I'd be if I was GM lol. I don't like how he drafted Embiid/Noel next to each other though. Doesn't fit.

Then frankly and unfortunately you're a fan of the wrong NBA franchise. The Knicks are never going to be the Sixers or the Wolves anymore than the Tampa Rays are going to be the Yankees.

As many years as you pine for the NY Knicks to tank for 4-5 consecutive years, they never will, for reasons that should be quite obvious to anyone with even a passing familiarity with the organization.

Understand that's not an endorsement of how they do business, it's just a reality check.

Holy crap with the trade Melo BS. Do you people not understand that he's not getting traded anywhere this year?? If Phil can't build this team to where Melo sees a team that can contend in two years then i can see him going to Phil about a trade but he's definitely not going anywhere this off season.

Has Milsap helped or hurt his max status?

Do you want him as robin to Melo?

short answer yes.
Long answer, on paper he's an allstar. In reality he's one of the best role players in the game. As long as he accepts that I
want him on this team----he's a perfect fit with Melo. He immediatley makes us a better rebounding and defensive team.

But he's not robin---he's batgirl--he's Odom.
So if we can't get a big 1st tier big for the max---than we should get him for 10-12mil.

Millsap
Melo
Monta

that team still lacks a big piece
whereas
LMA
Melo
Monta only lacks the right role players.

its quality over quantity but we may be forced to ditch that creed and grab lower cost underrated players who just need burn and shine.

we dont want a massive turnover on the roster that will then have to spend the first half learning the triangle but i dont think we have a choice as we ONLY have jose, cleo, melo and timmy with contracts for next season and qualifying offers to wear n shved with team options on galloway and acy.

the cupboards are bare and filling out the roster will be challenging.

id like to bring back, shved, barf, gallo(only 3 from last season worth a damm) and bring in cheaper contract gritty guys like wes, millsap and tyler hansbrough.
then add in a #4 pick and were competitive.

if we can get out of jose's contract via trade even better or that provision where we waive him for savings.

but.

jose,shved
wes,galloway,cleo
melo,thj,thanis
millsap,hansbrough
bargs,cole

not too shabby.

We have a guy that can carry the team during the playoffs. Melo
But it seems that Milsap's game has been rendered quiet by Thompson.

Millsap had 16 pts and 10 rebounds 5dimes 6-8 from the line and 0 TO's.
Thompson has 16pts and 11rbs.

Millsap also brings the ball up the court and guards multiple positions and shoots 3's pretty well.
if you see Millsap for what he is---I think he did his job.
If people think he's a baller--then he failed.
where was Horfor?Teague wilted----
If we had someone like Millsap against Indy...we would've gone to the ECF's.

Millsap on a team as the 3rd or 4th offensive option is his proper place in the NBA.

Questioning Millsap after going 16/10/5 on a team that won 60 games? HUH?! He ran into LeBron, you can't fault him and the Hawks for that.

the hawks are actually in a great position.
they have an excellent team and coaching staff. Now they have to take one of those positions where they have a good player and upgrade it to a star.

C Alexis Ajinca
PF LaMarcus Aldridge
SF Carmelo Anthony, Thanasis Antetokounmpo
SG Wesley Matthews, Ray Allen
PG Emmanuel Mudiay, Langston Galloway

Try to move these guys for picks Tim Hardaway Jr., Jose Calderon, Cleanthony Early

The Spurs and Warriors did not have extended periods where they didn't pursue any vets at all. They tanked and then quickly regrouped (bringing back D-Rob; signing Jack and Landry and trading for Bogut). Totally different from OKC and Philly.

The best bargain picks always seem to be guys that are drafted into competitive teams, so I think it would make sense to make sure we at least have 5 NBA-caliber players going into the season, especially when without our pick we have nothing to gain from losing.

Yeh it is ******* unrealistic and the dumbest **** ever posted.

Can someone please in any way you can get this dude to stop posting here. I can't tell if he is trolling or not.

So far in the past 24 hrs:

Mentions signing Josh Smith and making him PF
Mentions trading #4 and Calderon for Winslow, Ilysova and Henson
And now #4 for PAUL GEORGE

LMFAO. :banghead:
