CPT/CBR, I'm assuming you guys were referring to the patriotic show Weidman puts on that is so annoying? Out of curiosity, why does that annoy you so much but other, even more patriotic guys seemingly don't? (Anderson, Conor, etc.). Unless you guys were talking about the Jesus stuff in which case I'm on the same page lolzers.

I like Weidman, I don't find him esp annoying. Dan Hendo I never liked. The military dudes neither.

I really respect Conor as a thoughtful dude, I actually listen to him carefully when he describes his relationship with Dublin / Ireland. I can't grasp his attachment, probably never will, but I open-mindedly disagree rather than just think he's an ****.

Screw American and Canadian patriotism always. I know where that's coming from, I grasp it fully, and it's garbage.

I was at a martial arts event a little while ago where for some reason there were a bunch of Irish-identified fighters on the card - all Canadian nationals - and each one came out to some Irish music with green/white/orange flagmen and Irish nicknames. Thought that was bull.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Cerrone to get title shot, will wait for injured RDA to return.

IDK if Anderson walks out with a brazilian flag or not but he literally refuses to fight Brazilians and literally picks the brazilian fighter 100% of the time when they did the pros pick stuff. He's hugely nationalistic, I would say to a creepy/weird extent, but I'm one who thinks nationalism is a weird characteristic in general.

If its a thing where it only annoys you when American fighters do it, that's fine and it truly doesn't bother me, but I feel like we see nationalism in this sport by Brazilians more than any other group. And its not like they are some small group in mma, they are actually overly represented at the top of the sport considering the proportion of fighters.

It pretty much is a thing where it only annoys me when American fighters do it, but Weidman bothers me more than others. It comes across as a little fake to me, but if it's 100% real, I still wouldn't like it. It's why I said I couldn't explain it well. I'm not terribly patriotic/nationalistic myself, and would probably like a guy like Rory MacDonald less if he started repping Canada hard. I'll cheer for national teams (and maybe individuals, but not really, because WGAF if the best pole vaulter was born in the same country as I was) in international competition, because it's fun/unifying, but Weidman, representing the USA, in the USA, just rubs me the wrong way. The last point is actually important to me, even if it doesn't make sense. If he fought Belfort in Brazil and wanted to drape himself in the flag, I'd be fine with it. Though I'd also be fine if Belfort, in Brazil, came out with the Brazilian flag. There's a lot of international politics and power dynamics behind this that I can't really explain in a way that makes sense.

Yiks, Cerrone fought through a pretty bad rib injury apparently. I couldn't imagine. I had a subluxated rib earlier this year and it was one of the worst things that has happened to me, I barely had the courage to drive in a car, much less do anything physical at all, much less fight in a cage. lol.

Craziness.

I'm going to favor him in every fight but Rockhold and Souza are both serious challenges IMO.

Souza, even on roids, is not going to beat Weidman.Jacare already got beat by Rockhold several years ago. What I'm hearing is a lot of people think Rockhold has a great chance to beat him. AKA could have 4 champs soon if Khabib ever comes back.

This is what I loved about the build up to the Dan Hardy/Marcus Davis fight. He called Davis (the Irish Hand Grenade... born and raised in Maine) out on this sort of thing, said his website looked like an explosion in a St Patrick's Day gift shop

Travis Browne seems to have fights where he looks like the future, and then he just has absolute stinkers. He was knocked out for a large portion of that fight though, and I guess getting caught by Arlovski can happen to anyone.

Watching how Cormier handled Rumble when tying up, and how he handled basically every other fighter thrown his way, it really makes it scary to think about how easily Jones made tying up and neutralizing him look.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone seen the Bader vs. Cormier confrontation, and I know fighters like to get into character to build hype, generate more dollars, and earn title fights, but isn't it ridiculous to say someone that begged for fights with Jones and Rumble is ducking Ryan Bader? lol.

Talk of Arlo having the perfect strategy, though. Take it to him.
