Have to go with Stanley Johnson here. I'm perfectly alright with him as a consolation prize if we can't get Mario or Winslow.

I voted for The Zinger because I think he is better than what we have at the 4.
But now I kinda wish I voted WCS. Oh well.

Since some are going fit and some are going just best talent I chose fit. Booker is the best fit for us in the entire draft after Russell and followed closely by Johnson.

So you would take Booker over Towns and others?

The question is fit vs talent. I would not touch Mario over Winslow and I would be shocked if anyone did. If we are just going with what is best for our team then yes Booker is better for us than Towns. Okafor is better for us than Towns too because we have a version of Towns in Vonleh. I do not think Towns can play NBA center and we do not need another PF. Towns is arguably the best talent in this draft but it is at a position we just drafted back to back. If Towns was on the board when we pick, had we won the 2nd pick, then I would have traded him for whatever I could get because of the ill fit.

I get it in a sense to draft for fit.
I tend to transition from talent to fit as I get farther down the board. and then trend back up towards talent. IMO at some point the most talent is the best fit. This league is won by talent, lots of it. The more you can get eventually means good things. I end up transitioning to fit once the talent gap doesn't outweigh the fit gap.

I agree that when all things are equal you go for fit but otherwise draft top talent. I felt it was a five person draft before a drop off and the five were Russell, Mudiay, Okafor, Winslow, Towns in that order for me. All seem about even and the fit was the reason for my order. After that there is a solid group that is around each other that is Booker, Johnson, Oubre, Hezonja, WCS, Prozingis in that order for me because again same type talent so ordered by fit.

Completely understandable. I'm with you on that. Board is different with a little more tiers though. Same concept.

For me the groups are larger because it is by total negatives and positives with bonuses on future potential. Like Booker and Oubre are grouped together because Booker is more ready right now and still has good potential while Oubre has more long term potential but the question is will he reach it.
With the NBA it is so hard to try to predict who will put in the work to reach their top end. I tend to look at guys who really acknowledge the work they need to do and show intelligence. A competitive fire is also a big plus for me. So at this point Booker is the best fit and has all the boxes checked. Johnson would be a close second for me right now. Where we are in the draft I will be fine with Booker or Johnson as they are the best fits for our team after Russell. If Winslow falls he is not a great fit but to much talent to pass on.
