Made it home safe and slept for 3 hours. QUite an adventure and kind of proves that biking is all muscle memory.

So with the crazy weather here, I stopped by my optometrist office to order some new frames and got stuck in a golfball sized hail storm, with some baseball sized hail thrown in for sphincter tightening pleasure...

The front of the store is all plate glass windows floor to ceiling... I'm the only man in the place... The Dr and her client were hot...
As the hail starts, everyone stops everything and starts to watch the show. The Dr is all excited and flirting with me a bit. But then **** gets serious with the bigger hail... My first instinct? Back the hell away from the windows...
So I slide back about 20' and sit in a chair... The other ladies don't ask anything they just follow me and do the same. The Dr decides she wants to take a closer look and walks up to the glass as the hail is bouncing off it...
I say, "You probably should stay away from the windows." She acts like she doesn't hear me and gets closer. I think she doesn't hear me or misunderstood, so I walk up closer and say, "The glass could break. You might not want to be that close to it." She gives me a dirty look and presses up to the glass. I figure **** it, I ain't getting a single cut for these bitches and went and sat down again.
Pretty soon some of the others are up at the glass and sticking their heads and phones outside and what not... And screaming when they almost get brained by the bigger pieces...

Women.

I try to help, and get treated like a creep. Not sure why surprised, but still a little rustled about it.

Glad I drove to work today, that storm would likely hit us in about 3 hours.

Anyone know how the Kobe X's work as casual street shoes? Specifically concerned about how the soles hold up.

All the best for the people in Japan. It's good that there's no tsunami due to the depth of the movement.

Cooked a steak for the first time. It got done a bit more than I'd wanted, expected medium rare and got medium well but overall solid stuff on the first attempt and the fact that I had just a pan to work with, seasoning game was top notch!

I didn't eat bacon or steak until very recently when I made friends after moving to Texas and one of them has keys to his parents' cabin near a lake in Louisiana. There's literally nothing to do there other than grilling meat and drinking beer, these guys don't just grill chicken so I got used to pork and beef for the first time.

That's very interesting, Slava. Did you abstain for religious, health, or ethical reasons?

I forget that browns don't eat red meat. You live in Texas man. They're known for that atherosclerosis.
