Doc made a random cameo appearance just two weeks ago in the draft thread:

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1330496&p=43645334#p43645334

It was the first time he posted in 3 months.

Thanks nate. This makes me feel better.

Happens, he had a kid. My boy due later this year. I doubt I'll even think of the board for a year or more. Wizards, that's different. My kid will have a jersey at the time of birth. :)

Congrats Indu. Will this be your first? What a blessing.

My kid/board experience was different from what you imagine yours will be. My first child was born in early December 2006, just before Arenas went on his historic west coast tear.

My boy and I stayed up late - him sleeping on my chest, as I watched the games, posting on my phone with my free hand.

Indeed, will be my first! I'm looking forward to many Yankee and Wiz games with him. :)

This.

When I had a newborn, I probably posted more because I was trapped in a chair with a sleeping baby on my chest. Either that, or the baby is sleeping and you're staying home with nothing else to do. It gets much more difficult once you have a second child.

I was lurking for nearly four years before my first post in 2009, and I don't recall any significant time when you weren't around, posting and moderating to the extreme. Difficult perhaps, but certainly dedicated.

As for Doc (one of my favorites ever), the draft thread will be a lot different if he's inactive this year.

PS: Whatever became of Krizko Zero/Ace Degenerate? Lifetime ban?

I'm really surprised how tenaciously the board has held on to so many over such a long time. Ten years ago I remember seeing 2002 join dates and I just couldn't understand durations like that in the context of the internet.

It's still pretty bizarre.

While he posts here every once in a while, I really miss Ji's weather threads.

Those were epic.

And that Ed Wood's pretty crucial for offseason roundups of various overlooked categories of potential FA pickups. Hope he doesn't disappear.

The long-term stability of this forum is a large part of what makes it appealing -- I mean, I've been posting /around/ Ruzious since the olden days of Redskins fandom (late 90s) on another forum. DC sports makes for a small group of die-hard fans :)

Posting with a newborn on my chest right now. Moving overseas with bad internet and no ability to watch games for several years made me a lurker.
