DO IT

No shooting, injury prone, soft, slow interior D, and involves Bargnani wearing a Knicks uniform.

Melo and Bargs are good shooters for their position. Hibbert is a really good rim protector. Agree on the injuries tho

Mudiay aint coming here...so dont get your hopes up...Phil likes guys who can shoot the ball...

Additionally, this interest on Millsap and Carroll is bizarre...both guys got destroyed by LBJ and some Ex-Knicks and you want to invest big money in them???

LMA/Melo/Wade alone wont seal the deal... we need some other role players too!!

Besart...this is crazy talk

I know... that's why I'm not that optmistic about this summer... In an era (and city) where everyone goes for his money we can't sign two stars with just 26M room... I was talking hypotetically, it's not that I'm really into it! Not at all!!

The only one who could've done that was Lebron last year... and he never did, despite saying that: "I could sign for the MLE for 29 other teams"!... Jordan and Pippen have done that in the past, Ewing too (twice less than their max)!!

But, yeah... now it's a crazy talk... even for just a fun one!!

We both know it's crazy---but this thread is alot more fun than "after we sign Monroe what are we going to do with the $1.50 we got left". We all have plenty of time to deal with reality when it actually happens.

Come on, jump in! It burns.

Wouldn't absolutely rule Lebron out....

Post#3507 » by alphad0gz » Sun May 31, 2015 2:27 pm

It all depends on his ego and drive to prove he is the most influential player in history. If he wins in Cleveland, he will have brought the city their title. He could leave via FA and still leave the team on very solid ground. If he was to move on to ..say..NY...and the Knicks win a title, who is to say he isn't the MVP in the history of the league? Maybe he is happy where he is, and maybe his ego is not so huge. But maybe it is.......

Each one of these trades have the Knicks trading a possible star for scrubs and a #7 :banghead: O&B your better than this, if the Knicks trade the #4 they better get a star or possible star.

How the hell do you know if the player at #4 is a possible star and yet the player at #6 or #7 is not? :banghead: :banghead:
On top of that you don't know anything about who the Knicks may have higher on their board. Just because some people have Mudiay at #4 does not mean that Knicks don't have him at #7 with guys like WCS, Winslowand Porzingis all ahead of them. Plus getting an extra starter back to move 2 or 3 spots down isn't a dumb idea :banghead: :banghead: it's a dumb idea not to take the extra starter if you are moving down to take your top ranked player. Regardless what some turds on a message board think.

Well said and i agree 100%. People think because some damn dang draft site has players ranked at a certain number that everyone has those players ranked the same dang way which is ridiculous. Phil hasn't done enough as a GM to not make me nervous about what he's gonna end up doing with our pick but if he can trade down some while bringing in a player that can help us then i'm all for it.

Use Early + picks if necessry to dump Calderon and THJ, should open up about $35m in cap space. Sign Monroe for $16m and LA for $19m. Draft Mudiay and sign Lavoy Allen for the room exception and Gary Neal, Hollis Thompson, Prince, and Gooden, for the minimum.

Mudiay/Galloway
Thompson/Neal
Melo/Prince
Aldridge/Gooden
Monroe/Allen

That team would go to the ECF.

Hawks don't have a superstar in Melo....

People forget sometimes we have Melo. He is the closest to LeBron we have in the NBA.

A player we should have on our radar also is Kosta Papanikolaou

He has a Team Option from Houston which I think they'll decline as they already have Terrence Jones and will probably bring back Josh Smith.

Very versatile PF who is a prototypical Phil Triangle type player. Ala Kukoc and Odom.

Still very young at 24.

Assuming we miss out on Gasol/LMA, I think a great plan B would be to try to nab Taj Gibson to go with Monroe and Carroll.

Bulls are going to be throwing big money at Butler and I think they would trade Gibson in a salary dump. Since we're under the cap, could we do a THJr. for Gibson swap. Saves them about 7 million as well as gives them a young, solid shooter off the bench.

Gives us a defensive PF to put next to Monroe and we should still have enough for Demarre at 10 mil.

Mudiay/Galloway/Schved
Carroll/Galloway/Schved
Melo/Carroll
Gibson
Monroe

Thats a very solid and well-balanced 7 man team to start with. Fill in with whatever cheap bigmen we can find not named Bargnani.

^Phil is going to go BPA. That's Mudiay (or Russell if Philly prefers Mudiay).

I'd be willing to bet the farm on this.

Muddily does fit. He and Galloway can share the ball handling duties they can both drive and put players in foul trouble. With Phils recent comments on defense and penetration... Thats Mudiay. Fishers triangle is going to be different from Chicago's or LA's but the Knicks would be fools to not draft a talent with potential like Mudiay because he doesn't fit a system. Thats backwards.

My ideal team:

Draft/Galloway/A.Miller
Matthews/Shved/Delfino
Anthony/R.Allen/Thanasis
Bass/Amundson/L.Thomas
M.Gasol/Aldrich/J.O'Neal

=> Gasol 18.5M; Bass 5M; R.Allen (or Bellineli/Brewer) 3M; Shved (or G.Neal/Mo Williams) 3M with our room exception!!

=> Matthews (or Khris) via S&T (Jose, two of THJ, Shved or Early & a future 2nd)... and the rest for the vet minimum!!

Carroll can't play 2 in that lineup... Matthews and Middleton, yes!! Also Danny Green if we draft Mudiay (not with Russell)
