What, why? Didn't Anthony Davis workout for the Hornets even though he knew he was going #1?

Though it would be nice, doesn't make much sense really imo. He knows for a fact that he is going top 2 and probably in his mind he is happy with either spot for vastly different reasons.

I get it from Town's POV, but what about for the Wolves? This is one of the biggest decisions we are going to have to make between Towns, Jah and Russell and we can't even see their workouts? I mean, it's just a workout, but any extra evidence we can use to make the right choice would help.

Maybe i'm just overthinking the workouts..Is he at least going to interview?

Yeah definitely, We'd definitely love to work him out and get a better look but the power lies completely with the player and agent. We are in no position to force him to do anything. I think he said he will interview with us and the Lakers only but again, no workouts for anyone.

With Towns not working out and what Flip has been saying, I think everyone needs to embrace that Okafor has more than a 50% chance of being the Wolves choice at 1

An entire season of actual basketball is FAR more important for draft decisionmaking than an hour and a half of watching a guy do drills against a chair. And he will be doing interviews.

Edit:

Also, I didn't hear it, but I read that Flip said in a recent interview that pre-draft workouts don't really mean anything, so I doubt this will have much of an effect on his ultimate decision.

What Flip's been saying heavily suggests that Towns will be the pick.

Let's say he decides to not work out for us in order to force us into not drafting him, I still would pick him if he graded out as the best player. I'm just not sure he grades out as the best player.

Those workouts are really a non-factor. I don't care if Towns or Okafor don't want to play here, whoever seems like the guy with the bigger chance to bring us the Championship has to be the pick, the rest doesn't matter. They'll learn to love it here at least as much as Love did, and that's enough to keep them for no less than 9 years if we surround them with a competent roster, and probably more.

Meh, I wouldn't be surprised if Towns did a workout where he wanted and invited teams to see it, rather than going to each individual team.

Towns is far from a project, he's a skilled bigman

This really make sense. One workout, show what you want they to see, and all the teams see the same instance.

Dleavitt24 wrote:Winslow more of a jimmy buttler. Doesn't move and carve defenses in the half court like harden that's more Russel. His end to end is similar. Towns back to the basket is very similar to bynum only bynum thought he could shoot, towns CAN shoot. I heard they went to the same high school and ppl were saying towns was the much better player.

This. Winslow plays nothing like Harden. He doesn't have nearly the ball skills. He's a 3-D, average sized Small Forward. Harden has the ball skills of a big PG.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Disagree. It's a chance for Flip to see the guys in person and run them through his own workout. It could be huge for a guy like Towns, who Flip is not really sold on yet - if he can come in and show some things that Flip hasn't seen him do. All the executives were very skeptical of Garnett when he came out. His workout made believers out of most, including McHale and Saunders.

Dig into the Porzingis analysis out there and you might come across the word “ectomorph” on more than one occasion. What a gross word to say. It means he’s built to be a thin, frail, and passive loner.
