But the point is which is the trend? Cause you cant make assumptions based on exceptions.

Tim Duncan shot both 60 percent and 80 percent as season averages. There are a bunch of examples of players who have improved, although many times they seem to fluctuate. Chris Webber shot in the 50's earlier in his career, had seasons around 80, then dropped again late in his career. Zach Randolph and Al Jefferson are also players who have fluctuated between 60 and 80 percent.

Big point is all of them shown more range than okafor besides their FT%. Malone, duncan, webber, Randolph, Griffin they had good mechanics on in game situation jumpers.

Okafor didnt show that last year neither, except for a 10 feet bank shot. He could be an average FT shooter in the future, but the evidence indicate the opposite way.

Griffin didn't shoot jumpers at all in college, I don't know about the rest of them. That goes back a ways.

At this point I think I'd actually cry like a little girl if we get anyone BUT towns!

Flip still prefers Okafor over Towns, looks like 90% that Twolves going to take Okafor, so Okafor fans be excited!

Ford also mentioned that the rest of the staff favors Towns and that Flip is basically the 12th angry man. There's plenty of time left to figure it out.

Yep, and Zgoda and Doogie with tweets today basically saying the same thing. I will be pretty sad if Okafor is the pick, but I'm preparing myself.

Not really. Those two (plus Jon K) have all been saying that Flip is leaning towards Okafor but that it's still very much a tossup at the moment and that Towns could easily be the pick.

Edit:

I wouldn't be surprised if nobody, not even Flip himself, really knows what Flip is going to do and that the talking heads are just speculating based purely on what little they do know (Flip likes Okafor (which is not the same as Flip liking Okafor more than Towns) and Flip is friends with Okafor's agent).

I'd really like to believe in Flip's talent evaluating skills, this time, however I think passing on Towns for the Wolves would be a huge mistake. Okafor will most likely be a very good player, but Towns looks like he could solve more Wolves' problems at once than Okafor potentially does.

Still don't understand why people will be that upset if Okafor is the pick. It's not like Towns is that much better or that Okafor is some sort of a bum.

Flip is a smart man who has made good moves for us (the Young and Payne trades not withstanding). He was patient with the Love trade and really maximized the value for Love by getting Wiggins. He drafted Muhammed, Dieng, and LaVine. He has done well adding good young pieces to this team. I have faith Flip is going to take his time, get all the information needed, and make a sound decision. If he feels that he can get Okafor to play sound defense then I don't see how it's a horrible choice.

I thinks it's a combination of two things. We've become weary of non-rim protecting bigs and multiple reporters are saying that it's near unanimous in front offices that Towns is the better prospect (and of course most reporters believe this as well).

That doesn't mean Flip being on his island is wrong, Derrick Williams was a consensus pick too, but it makes fans very very leery. And personally, I've much preferred Towns since seeing him on KY's Carribean tour.

And yes, I'll be pretty upset if Flip passes on Towns.

I wouldn't be upset with any of the top 3. I think Flip has at least earned a little trust on his drafting skills.

How do we get both of them without giving up Wiggins?

Rubio + Lavine + Dieng + Bjelicia to the Lakers for #2 + any cap filler they want to throw in?

Agree with this.

I've personally been leaning towards Towns but I feel that Flip has drafted/evaluated talent well enough to get some benefit of the doubt regardless of what player he picks.

I guess I'm just open minded and would be cool with any of the big three. I know Towns has mad skills, but I just don't see how a guy who scored 4 points or less in 20% of his games and 10 points or less in 51% of his games is such the clear number one guy. Now those percentages don't disqualify him from being the number one pick. His skills warrant the top pick. I just think his production should limit him from being the run away number one guy. I also can be a contrarian who dislikes group think.

All I want is for Flip to keep an open mind throughout the process. Compile as much data as possible. If he does all of that then he needs to go with his gut and make the best decision possible.

I can't believe we are going to draft Okafor.
Not another stupid decision by our front office.
Back to mediocrity if we pick Okafor.
