I'd say Lebron still needs 2 more titles to be considered more G.O.A.T than Kobe too, he is on his way tho.
I started watching Jordan in 87, was a huge fan, hated the bad boys, still have a bunch of Jordan stuff I collected as a kid but.....he was no LeBron. He was a better scorer but he didn't make his teammates better like Bron. Jordan was surrounded by a ton of talent, Krause put together some amazing rosters, they won 60 games without MJ the first time he retired.
I don't understand why people say this. When Doug Collins put MJ at PG briefly early on his career, he dropped 10 triple doubles in 11 games. And the game where he didn't, he had 41/10/7. MJ averaged 8 assists/game that year, and 5 assists on his career...it's pretty clear he, along with Kobe, were very good playmakers when the situation called for it. He had Pippen playing point forward so naturally MJ took on less of a facilitating role...but perhaps if he had played with a great big man instead of Pippen he may have been more of a facilitator.
At the end of the day people get so caught him in the many facets of the game that they forget the point of the game. Sure, LeBron is a better rebounder and playmaker. But the point of the game is to put the ball into the basket, prevent the other team from putting the ball into the basket, and to win championships. And MJ did all 3 of those things at a level LeBron hasn't...Lebron is not the scorer MJ was, or the defender MJ was, or the winner MJ was. MJ's the best of Kobe and LeBron put together...Kobe's mentality, fearlessness and skill without the bad shot selection, and many of LeBron's athletic gifts and his basketball IQ without his mentality. 6-0 in the finals vs. 2-3 (possibly soon to be 2-4) speaks for itself.
Assists just mean you had the ball in your hands a lot, Jordan was nowhere near the facilitator LeBron. MJ was a good defender but so is Bron, Jordan was able to run around on defense since the guy he was guarding was typically a bum offensively, this is why his steals and blocks were high, he did get to play with 2 of the top 5 defensive players of all time remember. His teams were all stacked and every team LeBron has been on has had many flaws, silly to compare championships. Keep in mind though, how many rings did Jordan have at LeBron age? He had 3, same number LeBron is going for now but he's been to the finals 6 times instead of losing in earlier rounds, so ignorant for people to knock him for losing in the finals. Jordan retired in the middle of their run and Chicago still won 60 games, that's how good his supporting cast was, LeBron leaves to Miami for 4 years and I think the Cavs won about 60 that whole time lol.
