Malone interviewed for DEN head coaching gig...

Post#1 » by benchmobbin02 » Thu Jun 4, 2015 6:44 pm

Per Mark Stein's twitter, "ESPN sources say that the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday interviewed former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Malone"

Could this open the door to a trade of DMC for Lawson and Faried? Not saying it will happen, but the dots are actually there to be connected now.

For what it's worth, I'm happy Malone is getting another shot. He was treated badly and unfairly IMO.

That would definitely strengthen the odds of a trade with Denver. Stauskas is Malone's guy. I'd have to think Malone keeps Chandler tho, he's a Malone type player.

I wish Malone GREAT success wherever he ends up. Love that dude.

We would burn down the new arena if that trade happened.

Cousins isn't on the market. Faried doesn't have value on his contract and Lawson is a malcontent whose value is down, we wouldn't move the 6 for them

I'm happy Malone is getting an interview but I wish it were with an ascending organization. The Nuggets are not going to be good soon

You can say he isn't on the market all you want (means nothing coming from you) and so can Vlade, for that matter (teams have traded guys not on the market before), but only a moron doesn't consider offers regardless of player. It's just common sense. Will the offer have to blow you away if you have publicly stated he is off the market, YES. Who is to say that won't happen?

Malone deserves a better situation than Denver.

Anyway, Denver doing an wide coaching search is good for us. I remember Aaron Bruski said that if Denver hires a new coach, then Melvin Hunt will likely join George Karl's coaching staff here in SAC, and Hunt was a very good coach.

As an outsider, I'd like to see the Nuggs reunite D'Antoni and Jeremy Lin.

Do you think Pelicans fans sit around and ponder trades involving Davis, and posing undervaluing trades for him like I have seen you do here and on the T+T forum? It can be argued that Davis is the better player, but that is the esteem a lot of Kings fans hold DeMarcus in. A franchise, top 10 talent that the team is built around. That's why you have received negative feedback regarding moving him here and on the T+T forum.

It's unlikely that a trade package involving him will progress the team in the short term. That is not how moving superstars usually works. And the team is built around him. Rudy has played the best ball of his career here. Ben feeds off of his dominant low post presence.

Everything that you said is true but it doesn't make what I said untrue. You listen and consider ALL offers when you have assets and it is always possible for you to be surprised by an offer. Me saying that doesn't mean I don't believe in DMC. I DO! It doesn't mean I don't think he is a top 3 center with a Superstar future. I DO! It means my options are open, as the King's should be.

You say it's unlikely that trade package involving him will progress the team in the short term is your opinion drawn on your knowledge of what has been offered. I respect that but hold to the opinion that you keep your options open. You never know when someone will overvalue what you undervalue and vise versa or where the negotiation will take you.

This guy's join date was May 28, and he's pushing a DMC trade and pushing a Matthews signing in another thread.

Sounds like a company PLANT.

It's true that people can have different opinions. Indeed.

in the last 20 years how many teams have won an NBA championship that didn't have a HOF player on the roster? Very few. Up to this point Cousins numbers rank up there with HOF players, which probably means he is the best chance the Kings have to returning to glory. Now I'm not saying Cousins will be a HOF'er but its more likely than not anything you get in return for DMC will be a lesser player.

I'm not "pushing" either one, I'm trying to get others opinons on rumors and reports and where those bits of info could go. If rumblings were that we could possibly move Gay for huge value, I would post trades involving him. If we were reported in stories as interested in Gasol, I would talk about how that would affect the team.

If there was a 10% chance that someone was going to call you today with a job offer that was better then you're current job, would you stop answering your phone because it's only a 10% chance? What about a 5% chance? Or even 1%? A smart person would answer the all calls regardless because as the saying goes, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

There are more variables here outside of "answering your phone".... In your scenario if your job found out you were looking for another job they would smartly prepare to replace you. If Cousins found out the Kings were quietly shopping him its game over in Sacramento. Actions have consequences and until the FO is in agreement to move on from Cuz you don't answer those phone calls. Let it go to voicemail :D

We would burn down the new arena if that trade happened.
what about lawson, faried, filler, 2015 1st round pick for cousins, ray mac, landry?

#7 is the most appealing asset there. I don't like it.

LOL there is nothing in Denver's roster that would net either the #6 or Cousins.

I like Nurkic & Gallo, though.

Oh, good for Malone! He really deserves a head coaching gig. Especially after what he went through in Sacramento.

Return to Sacramento Kings
