Merged with the #2 Pick thread. Please don't open a new thread when a post can go into an existing topic.

Changed the title of the thread, because it sounds like our decision won't necessarily be between Okafor and Russell. Towns may be there too.

I have nothing against the triangle especially when there are a number of plays within it that are still used today, but I'd only want it to be brought back if Phl came with it which isn't going to happen.

I want to see a hybrid offense like what the Spurs run... I want these young legs to get up and down, but if the first strike doesn't work, in like the first 5-8 seconds of the clock, then we get into a half-court set like the triangle, hinging on Okafor and Randle.

Good full court D forcing transition basketball, but morphing into a solid half court scheme to utilize our size, if the other team stops the first strike. It's also what Showtime did.

He's being compared as an "Anthony Davis lite" which makes sense given his abilities. He obviously could fail to live up to them, just like anyone else

Don't forget, not even Anthony Davis wasn't a sure thing.

That;s what happens when you go to the General Board.

IIRC, the weakness that AD had coming out of college was his offense: low post and jump shot. His defense was never in question, and his athleticism was off the charts. But that jump shot has been fixed as we all know since now he's got a higher release point.

I've finally turned my decision and anxiety over to the man who really knows by way of twitter. I'll let you know who the Iron Sheik would choose when he hits me back.

I like Okafor too, but what about KAT says Deandre to you?

I'm afraid KAT would have problems w/ his offense and will completely rely on his athletecism and defense. Look at what happened to Dwight. I'll take Okafor's weakness on defense than KAT's weakness on offense all day.

That speaks of the General NBA board more than anything else... that thread you linked is littered with banned users. The GNBA forum is full of soon-to-be-banned accounts or alternate aliases of banned accounts.

I avoid that place if I'm looking for intelligent discussion.

So looks like the mudiay workout is scheduled but won't be for another two weeks Saturday June 20th.

I think he's the first of the projected top 4 to set a date.

What are the chances of them picking someone other then Towns?
