I did, some close friends are diehard Liverpool fans. Best cl finals ever.

I think it's close between that and United vs. Bayern 1999, at least in my lifetime. Incredible climax to that one.

I really enjoyed BVB - Bayern...although nothing is as delicious as 99.

Definitely the best Barca final during this current run however. Juve almost made a match of it after their goal...until suarez killed them.

Milan over Barca in 94 is probably still the best final of my lifetime, although doesn't crack my top 2, as BVB-Juve comes in right behind 99 for me.

Vermaelen with a CL winners medal, how is that even possible?!

Seriously though, congratulations to Barca on a well deserved win. This team is scary good, and can even get better.

Vermaelen should've worn a Terry jersey while watching this match.

I think that team has the potential to repeat. In the past we lost Henry by injury and Eto'o by transfer. The other Champions League we lost Villa by injury. However, Suarez and Neymar are all in his prime and with Messi the next two, three years can be awesome.

He definitely outdone Terry this year, he's got 3 cups for 1 appearance (21 minutes at that) and a full kit to boot

Was in Barcelona for this.... such insecure fans lol, the crowd was shrieking, 'Madrid, bastards, salute the champions.'

You just won the treble and bring up another team? What a small club.

i dont think its possible to repeat in the modern era, barca already got a great amount of luck with no injuries to any of their (important) players during this run and also a couple key injuries to opponents (especially Bayern). they are very good though and of any team in the past decade i would probably say they are the most likely, but i highly doubt it will happen.

I think you can imagine the winner to be the first to repeat every year. Bayern was impressive in 2013 but went out in the semi finals the year after. Same goes for Madrid. Although they weren't impressive in the final last year, they had a really really good run.

As you already mentioned, fitness plays a huge role towards the end of the tournament. I think the top 4 are normally on the same level, so in the end, many small things decide about the outcome of the matchup. Apart form fitness, also the referee's decisions, individual mistakes by the players, etc.

Barca definitely has the potential to win it again next year. But if they don't get everything together in April and May, they won't have a chance. And keep in mind that they were one level above their competition during Pep's time there and also couldn't get it done.
Eventually, one team will achieve it in the future, but it's impossible to predict.

Obviosly luck and referee decision are important. However, Barcelona was not so above their competition. Ibra acquisition was a mistake specially if he had to play at the wing, at last we played against Inter with Bojan and Pedro. If that year we had Villa we would have won the tournament despite Milito offside goal or volcan. Messi in his career has had very few moments a real top striker.

So where is Massimo again? I wonder whether he is alright?

If this was a German team losing the final yesterday he would've long been here to tell us how overrated German football and Bundesliga is. Now that one of these great Serie A teams lost it he has disappeared.

Anyway, congratz to Barca. Best team won it. Sorry, for magik. Keep your head up. Juve at least made it an exciting game.
