Couldn't agree more. There might be an additional trade or two involving Bennett or Budinger and a minor free agent signing but that's probably going to be it.

Didnt you see those Alex Kennedy tweets? There's like a dozen hall of famers in this draft, we need to trade for as many draft picks as possible.

Looks like Bojan Dubljević is our new guy-across-the-ocean.
Should we start his thread now, or wait until Bjelica is officially traded?

Need to keep hyping euro-mvp Bjelica right now.

Ethomasp31 wrote:The Heat pick 10th.... Could we build a trade around Shabazz and Bjelica for #10 plus fillers? Then trade Rubio & Dieng to Sac for #6, Stauskas and Collison? Then package #6 and #10 and whatever else (#31, #36) for #3 and take Russell and Towns? I know.....not realistic....but if we could come out of the draft with Russell and Towns while keeping Wiggins and LaVine that would be a pretty awesome young core to build around.

I'd like to see them obtain the heat #10 for something like:

Martin (they expect to make the playoffs next year, so they could really use his scoring)
Bjelica (they have already shown interest apparently)
#36

for
#10
(filler - maybe contract of Chalmers or Anderson)

Then draft Trey Lyles at #10. Apparently Phil Jackson is in love with him for the triangle.

It's also possible you could get Lyles with the OKC pick at #14 which might be even cheaper to acquire.

Then trade:
Rubio
Lyles
Dieng
#31

for
#4
Calderon

This seems like reasonably enough to entice the knicks to move down. They need talent everywhere on the roster.

Then draft Mudiay or preferably Russell at #4. I like that Flip is sending off the rumor that he likes Mudiay which might trick Phily into drafting Mudiay as extortion (they are sneaky that way. They did it to Orlando successfully).

Then your starting day lineup is:
Russell/LaVine/Wiggins/KG/Towns (Me Likey!)

If you are lucky you have a three headed monster (Russell/Wiggins/Towns) who are top 10 players in 5 years and the wolves are making a championship run every year after that.

Yes, no doubt it is. But I think every trade that happens on draft day seems unrealistic until it actually happens. And the one common thing is that in real trades, teams almost never get as much as the fans expect for their "prized" assets.

The most unrealistic part is that Flip can trick Hinkie into Russel/Mudiay swap game when Russel is their most coveted player in the draft.

Trading Shabazz, Rubio and Dieng for Stauskas and the 4th pick is blowing the team up? We were 16-66 last year....I honestly don't think anyone but Wiggins and probably LaVine are untouchable. It's been reported that Flip's preference is a scoring PG. If we trade Rubio, I still want to get Towns and we would need to get one of the PG's.....Mudiay or Russell. My preference is for the Wolves to keep Rubio and Rubio stay healthy. But if Shabazz can get us a quality asset....I would definitely move in or include him in a trade. To me, Bjelica, Shabazz, Martin, Dieng, #31 and #36 are all tradable assets and moving any of them is hardly blowing up the team. Budinger and Bennett aren't going to get you anything.

This team was 16-66 because it was injured all season long and tanked shamelessly. It's like you didn't watch it.

I think the true value for Bjelica might be something around pick 15-20. But I don't see anyone in that range right now that he fits on.

I think we are blowing his value out of proportion a little bit because of his age and lack of time in the NBA. I think his value might be 20 and up, and that is based off of his production and title as the Euroleague MVP.

I also think we can hold onto him and have a really nice mix of players at essentially every position. What if instead of moving him we keep him and make him the backup PF? He seems like he could pair with Dieng. Attach the #36 (or #31 if it has to be) to Bennett to break up the PF logjam (somewhat) and look at how nicely Bjelica fits in.

Ricky / #31 (or #36) / Brown
Martin / Lavine
Wiggns / Shabazz / Budinger
KG / Bjelica / Payne
Towns / Dieng / Pek

Back up to the argument from earlier, I'm not sure why people are in such a hurry to blow this team up. It was bad last year, but it was young and injured. I think we would've won more games down the stretch if we wanted to by simply holding onto Thad Young (KG barely played). That wasn't the goal. I'd like to add an "experienced" player to our front court with Towns. Lets hold pat and thank the basketball gods for the #1 pick.

I really hope we sign this guy.
He could be something.

Special for our team, we dont have a clear PF going forward, at least right now.

I think we could be selling him low.

Like I said before, he really complements the 2nd unit with his ballhandling and playmaking skills especially if Flip continues the Lavine as PG experiment.
Lavine-Shabazz-Budinger-Bjelica-Towns(?)
I think 15 million for 3 years is fair. If he was owned by the Lakers or a big market team,he will be hyped the same as Mirotic

we've had a lot worse players for $15M over three! It's worth a flyer just to see if he can play with the team. as for all these trade scenarios, if I could guarantee you Rubio playing 75+ games next year, would you be happy with this lineup:

Rubio/Brown or filler
Martin/LaVine
Wiggins/Shabaaz/Budinger
KG/Bjelica/Payne/Bennett
Towns/Dieng/Pekovic

I'd be looking to dump Bennett and sign free agent point guard like Corey Joseph. Team would have a shot at making the playoffs.

Lets not overcomplicate things:
Draft Towns
Sign Bjelica using MLE
Figure out some way to turn 31, 36, expirings into a good PG
Resign KG

Has a chance to be a really good team in a year or two.

All Wolves reporters keep saying Bjelica will be a trade piece. Flip don't want to pay him so high.
