At least Melo wouldn't have to worry about getting the ball! Rubio ain't gonna shoot it.

PJ probably thinks getting Rubio would lead to getting Marc Gasol.

they'd have to dump Jose contract too then otherwise not enough cap room and what good is a pass 1st pg with no shooting skills if Melo is just gona iso and have everyone watch him? :D

Phil has to be naive to think getting Rubio helps with getting Gasol.

Phil hates rookies, so maybe it has more to do with getting a relative sure thing over risking looking like a fool drafting the wrong guy...
I mean you're getting a shot at Mudiya at worst... Seems stupid to give that up for Rubio unless something else is part of the deal.

^To follow up on that, all of the top 5 prospects we're working out got/will get the same treatment. Liked that we got Russell in last night for dinner so that they could all watch the game, pick his brain a little on what he sees

I got to say that I hope we do.

That's the most I've ever heard him talk straight thru and I sd impressed with Russell. I'd be totally behind us drafting one of them be then paying for a top big. It's the laker way and I like what I heard from Russell, seems more aware than I thought. I feel a lot better with him or Mudiay than I do Towns. Time to see what Okafor has got

I want one of the bigs. Really hope we don't cave in and get one of the guards...

Made up Rumor. Rubio is not elite enough for us to take on his salary & not get a lottery pick back in the process.

Im on the "take one of the bigs" with the number 2 pick bandwagon but if by some miracle the Lakers picked Russell that would indicate that Russell is very very special.

Others have stated similar thoughts, and yeah, we all may have our favorites and who we'd prefer, but ultimately we only have access to a very small amount of info on these prospects. whoever the front office picks must have impressed, so I'm willing to get behind the pick no matter what it is.

Playing up the Russell card to get Philly to bite on a trade. I like it.
