Earl Barron wins at WSOP poker event

Saw this article today - apparently he really likes playing poker and said he'd beat most of the NBA's pros. Would be cool to play against him

What kind of move was he making with Jack-9? That hand is miserable unless he played it under certain conditions. I wonder if he just had a bad beat early and then rode his chip stack. Although I guess it said that he has placed at numerous events.

Also "NBA star" is a little generous :D ...but this is cool, thanks for sharing!

Jack-Nine isn't a bad hand to go all in with if you're short stacked. I think my buddy finished 500th something in that same tourney, said there was over 7000 players.
NBA Star isn't very accurate though, more like... NBA LEGEND GOAT.

Did a Earl win a chip? He was on the roster of Miami in 2005, but he didn't play any playoff games. Man that's some hype going on there.

You're right, and I don't really have enough info to criticize. If his stack was short enough then it would make sense. If not though anyone calling is going to be ahead pre-flop (or insane) so you are going for your draw or a pair up. Definitely not hating, for complicated reasons my lucky hand is J10 suited.

Either way, I would like to play poker with earl Barron.

I've found luck with 5-7 and Jack-Nine. Though I don't consider them my lucky hands lol (don't have one). I haven't played Poker in about 10 months. My last two times at the casino I got a couple bad beats. Went all in with cowboys in position only to lose to the small blind with aces. Lost $200 that hand, left the casino haven't looked back, lol.
Side note: I found Eddie Johnson playing high stakes at Talking Sticks. Didn't want to bother him though.

I'd like to play poker with em too. I think Paul Pierce plays at the main event frequently too. I can't recall the other players but I know there are a lot now.
