Black should take every single one of Sacre's minutes. If he's our 15th man, I have no problem with this. Can easily be cut or traded.

I'm more upset with the fact that these morons in management resigned Nick Young to such a horrible contract.

Man! 900k a year? to sit on the end of the Lakers bench and pretty much only play when players are injured or needing a big body in the paint ...

Sign me up Lakers! I'm keen to play I earn $50k a year now - anything between 100 and 900k I'll be happy

Why are you guys freaking out over this ? Even if they pick up his option, his contract is still unguaranteed going into next season. Basically all Sacre is doing is counting days from here to Dec. 10th.

That's what I wanted to find out too. If its an unguaranteed deal, then if we need the cap space, we can cut him and free up the space. Hopefully, it is unguaranteed. I believe Tarik and Jabari's and even Clarkson's deals are all unguaranteed too.

EDIT: The quoted article says its a guaranteed option.

Am I the only one seeing a serviceable 3rd C who is capable of crashing the boards, hitting midrange Js, and decent man D?

Yeah he isn't that mobile, athletic, blocks a lot but he's ok for what he's earning and his role. Just don't expect DJ, Gasol, Noah numbers and you'll see it's all good.

Good move now Okafor has someone to practice against at his size. Just don't injure him Robert.

Sacre's contract for next season becomes fully guaranteed if not waived by 6/30, not December 10th.

His contract doesn't have an option, so reports saying the Lakers are picking up his option are really saying that the lakers will decide not to waive him by that date.

He's still under contract for this upcoming season.

Oh nice, I didn't know that. I'm excited about Tarik Black. Black and Clarkson demonstrated some good chemistry out there.

I think he still gets cut by that day, team just on hook for the remaining cash.

Good still leaves is with a big body to help train jahlil and it makes combining black with the 27th pick more viable for us. I love tariq, he's going to be a near double double big off the bench for years to come, but if it means getting rondae Hollis-jefferson or Looney I'm all for combining assets.

He's a perfectly decent bench center, works hard, has improved offensively, and cheap. Don't see the problem. I like Tarik more, though, and hope this doesn't mean he's gone.

I think he's actually pretty good for an end of the bench big. He will get better with age, those big almost useful guys usually do. At the very least I figure he'll hit for a better % eventually. Doubt he'll ever be anything more than a mediocre rebounder though.

Regardless, this isn't the kind of decision that really impacts where a franchise goes, either way.
