There's still 3 games left. Anything can happen.

I think it depends on how LeBron plays the rest of the series and whether his teammates can finish plays when LeBron is doubled. I'd be surprised if the Cavs shot above 20% from the field outside of the paint in game 4. If the Warriors defense can continue to close in on LeBron without repercussion then the rest of this series will play out in a similar fashion to tonight's game.

Obviously a major hypothetical, but if the Warriors win and everyone's production stays constant, the MVP should go to Iguodala. You can't award FMVP to a guy on the losing team who's shooting below 40%, largely thanks to Iguodala's defence.

How many times has Iggy held his own in single coverage? The fact that the Warriors can throw Iggy on LeBron and not have to double every time down the floor is probably the single biggest advantage they have in this series.

Curry is the poster child.

And when its all said and done, he will have the best stats on paper despite Iggy having more impact/passing the eye test

Lebron will win it win or lose. The game got out of hand when lebron sat the start of fourth. He really is carrying that team.

dockingsched wrote:If the Warriors end up winning the title, and right now they should be the favorites with 2 of the last 3 at home, I think the player most deserving of the Finals MVP trophy is Andre Iguodala. He's been tasked with being the primary defender on Lebron and he's been consistently good to great each game offensively.

Thompson has been subpar and Curry was a non factor for long stretches as well. LeBron is having the type of series that may get writers to vote for a player on the losing team, but is it great enough?

All things considered at this point its gotta be Iguodala thats in line to get it.

I'm with you but the series isn't over.

Iguodala is a very under-appreciated player.
think peaceful thoughts :meditate:

Yep, he is the heart and soul of everything the Warriors are doing right now. His experience is showing.

Definitely deserves it as of now. Primary Lebron defender (and doing a great job holding him to under 40%) and most consistent player on offense. Making big time plays and timely shots.

With that said, there's still a lot of basketball left to be played. Looks like Curry is finding his shooting stroke again and if he has big performances in the last 2-3 games, he'll likely take the FMVP. (i'm talking 30ppg+ on good efficiency, 7+ assists)

I vote LeBron even if Cavs lose but yeah Iggy seems likely to win. He's been the second-best player in the series.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

I don't know, Curry's fail has reached the point he is being openly mocked now. Giving him the FMVP would be kind of embarrassing.

He had 1 disaster game, aside from that, though he may have technically played sub-par his numbers still look good.

Game 1: 10-20 FG 26 PTS 8 AST 4 REB 2 STL
Game 3: 10-20 FG 27 PTS 6 AST 6 REB 3 STL

Funny thing, tonight's blowout win was probably his 2nd worst game statistically

Game 4: 8-17 FG 22 PTS 6 AST 2 REB 1 STL

Strangely it doesn't show up in the stat sheets aside from game 2, and that's really what's going to be measured.

As bad as he played in game 3 he ended with 10-20 FG 7-13 from 3 with 27-6-6. Those are technically great numbers, and that's what's going to be looked at I'm afraid.

He did go on fire during the last few mins in game 3 which salvaged his statline. To his credit, that wasn't garbage time, the Warriors were close to coming back.

Every player on the Warriors team should get a Finals MVP. Like the Hawks Player of the Month thing

From all the times Iguodala was snubbed from first all defense selections and all the crap he got in Philly because the guy wasn't Iverson, him getting an FMVP at this point in his career would mean so much. That would be the best thing about GSW winning.

Curry is receiving so much flack for averaging 23.5 6.3 4.5 with 5 to on 54.5%TS while receiving more double teams than Lebron. He's not playing like his mvp self but those aren't awful numbers. I expect he'll start finding his shot once the cavs start respecting some of Curry's teammates.
