As well as sacrificing starting to come off the bench. I think that would be perfect for him to get the FMVP this year, truely poetic.

^ Count me in. What he does is invaluable even though he doesn't always have the stats to show for it. (Especially this year.)

If the Warriors end up winning it and Iguodala continues his level of play and gets snubbed for Curry I hope he refuses the award and gives it to Iguodala. I'd cry some manly tears if he did, make sure your teammates get the respect they deserve.

Aboslutely he should be if they win the series. He has been their only consistent player.

Iggy would have to play the way he did last night for the rest of the series to win it. He's really more of a role player.

Well, there is a bias towards Iguodala in a certain sense. For example, if their level of play was switched around and Iguodala was getting double teamed while still scoring 20+ points (while playing mediocre defense), then I think even more people would be claiming that he should be the MVP. Because he is not expected to perform well, that is making him the sentimental favorite.

He has the stat that matters. A high on court point differential.

NBA won't let Iggy get the MVP from Curry, they need to prop up Curry as much as possible.

+1

Been yelling it since game 1.

He's the only Warrior who has been able to D up LeBron, and he's done so tremendously well. He's also channeled his former 76ers self and shown he can still be an offensive threat. If they win the series and he keeps up this level of play for the last 2 or 3 games, then without a doubt.

Lebron is 18-54 against Andre all series. Couple that with the timely offense and it is a no brainer.

This is an important point, but I think it goes both ways. Iguodala's play making abilities allow Steph to play off the ball more (particularly last night). The number of open looks that Curry and Thompson enjoyed from running off screens last night made a big difference. Remember back to earlier in the series when Curry's pick and rolls were getting blitzed and pushed to the sideline. Having Livingston and Iguodala facilitate more of the offence and getting Curry open off multiple screens did wonders for their offence last night. There are of course a number of other factors involved, but I think that any credit given to Curry for creating space as a shooting threat needs to be shared with Iggy (and Livingston) for making it possible to get Steph open using different sets.

It's waaaaaayyy too early to determine this. Right now the series is tied 2-2. Anything can happen. One bad Lebron game after getting hit in the head with a camera is hardly reason to proclaim Andre the MVP. Steph curry could come back and tear up the next 2 games and earn it. Lebron could still do that as well. Folks just love to over react to single games.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:

The OP used the words "If" and "in line" to win it. Not saying it's done and who wins it right now. A big part of this board is to discuss and speculate on things.

I'd say Iggy and not just based off this game. He's the only defender who has been able to do anything on LeBron and the only one showing up consistently on defense. His offense has been a plus too.

With the exception of last night, Iggy has been a defensive specialist for this series. He came into last night averaging 12ppg. You don't give a defensive specialist series MVP. Important? Yes, absolutely. MVP? No.

I don't care if Steph blows up for 85-95 combined in the next 2-3 games. Iggy da REAL MVP.

You're underrating his offensive contributions. Scoring isn't everything. Without a facilitator like Iguodala, GS's adjustments to Cleveland's defence would be much more limited. Not to mention he has made key baskets in just about every game.

He's averaging 3apg. Zero assists last night.

I'm not trying to diminish what he's doing. He's playing really solid ball and is great in his role, but his offensive impact is not great enough to be MVP worthy.
