And if it wasn't a big deal I don't see why they prepped that statement. This smells all sorts of wrong.
If anything I see them smokescreening for the draft, even with Embiid this team won't win many games... growing pains will be heavy with so much youth. With KP6 skyrocketing this past week, there's seemingly now 3 premier big men prospects in the draft, I can see Hinkie possibly trying to bait NY or Orlando. It's interesting how the sequence of events unfolded this week, again I've said it before not necessarily related to one another, but Russ cancelling workout, KP6 stock shooting up & this Embiid story.
Plus on top of everything else, all Hinkie & co. have said regarding Embiid's situation is that his progress isn't where they were anticipating / he isn't healing at the pace they expected; nothing about him re-injuring or any complications. Either they just want an excuse to sit him out an extra few months by skipping SL, or they're draft baiting. Possibly both.
Slightly possible maybe he is going very hard in workouts prematurely & thus slowing the bone healing. I don't think it's as bad as most are making it out to be.
