Fischella wrote:It depends who is there at 18th, if Payne or Jones are, I will go PG, but no if better bigs are available with worse PGs prospects, like Grant or Wright.
If I am Houston, I will bring Llull from Madrid and re-sign Pat, that sets the PG going forward.
In that scenario there is no money for Josh Smith, so I will go after a defensive PF like Mickey who can add some toughness and similar skills in that end without the crazyness offensively, if Dwight goes down you can play Motie at C next to him because he is a force as a defender.

You have also Capela developing, and if you make a trade for another big, lets say Millsap for example, or someone else of high profile, I guess based on Jones and D-Mo, you have enough intelligent role players with a Jordan Mickey via draft.

Resigning Pat is probably not an option. Anything above 6-7 mil puts us out of range for a max player next year capspace wise. I think Bev is likely to get offered at least that much. That's over paying for him now but a lot of GMs look at it in terms of next year when that will be MLE money. Lock up guys now because next year **** will hit the fan and you will wish you had more players locked up.

The only thing that might save us is his injury. Bev does have a history of getting injured and that may scare teams away. Still it just takes one and Cuban may be stupid enough to spend that money on him. With all the shooter on that team Bev migh work much like they hoped Rhondo would. Will see.

Parsons already recruiting Bev. They have a lot more cap space than us but we have his Bird Rights.

Bulls looking to move Taj Gibson because of Mirotic. How about a S&T deal involving Gibson for Bev?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

i rather take the chance on Mouhammadou Jaiteh
he seems like a good prospect
i'm hoping Morey can buy a 2nd round pick for him and let him play couple of years oversea before bringing him over here

look like Knicks is after him too
i hope PJax isn't reading my comment

Very strange. Who wants him in front of the Bucks. Celtics don't need a point guard. The only team wanting a PG is OKC and with Cameron looking to go to the Pacers maybe they would reach for Wright. He has similar game to Payne only less talented. But that is way to high for him IMO. Still OKC needs help at backup pg now not a couple of years from now and Wright fits that bill.

OKC always pick the one they like they don't care where they rank among the draftees
they drafted Westbrook and Harden
most mock draft rank them around #6-7
OKC still draft them #3-4

You're right about that Presti is a wizard at evaluating talent. If they got word that Payne is locked in with the Pacers then Wright makes sense. And they definitely do like to lock up guys come draft time. Okay so you just scooped everyone. Wonder if he did a workout with them.

Not sure if he did. His last workout was with us Raptors. It's possible we gave him a promise at 20, as he shut workouts down right after ours. But you guys and OKC are on the list of teams that might be looking at him.

Possible, but hard to imagine a pg not wanting to learn from Jason Kidd.

That's too bad. He was an intriguing prospect.

then Rondae Hollis-Jefferson it is
good defensive guy who can't shoot 3 (Kawhi Leonard can't shoot 3 either when he was in NCAA)
he shoot 70% from free throw line
with practice i'm sure he can get it up to 33% for spot up 3
with more practice i'm sure he can get it to 35-38%

Return to Houston Rockets
