What makes Russell a better player than Dragic? Both are good shooters. Dragic is a better ball handler. Dragic maybe shorter but he's quicker and slightly more athletic, that compensates his shots around the rim and defense.

I'd say Russell is better or at least an equal ball handler and athlete as Dragić. Plus he's a better shooter.

Hmm.. I don't know about Russell being better ball handler. I think Dragic is better ball handler and better PG skills. Russell is more of a natural off screen 2, who can really pass the ball.

From what I've seen from his play, I don't think he's the type that gets to the line at 4-6FTA like Dragic, and more of a mid range guy like Jrue with 1-2 FTA average.

Defensively, it gets quite tricky. So I'm also assuming he's more of Dragic caliber on defense.

Better shooter? Well, then you're expecting him to shoot close to Curry level. Conservatively, I think it's safe to assume he shoots 1.6 3s at 40% at Dragic level.

He's certainly worse than Dragic today. Luckily he's also 9 years younger.

Clarkson for Embiid

Really wanted Mudiay before but if Embiid looks likely to pull a Bynum then we need to get the guy with a higher superstar scorer chance and that's Russell. Noel plays better at center anyway. Get Simmons next year.

Can I ask you a serious question.

If Clarkson has this much value (not just Embiid, but the proposal you made to us for the 3rd pick, and I saw the same one you made on the Knicks board) then why trade him??

He's not being serious. He throws that out there as a passive aggressive shot towards other fanbases, for the perceived lack of respect that he believes Jordan Clarkson receives.

IDK about that, he actually posted something similar on the T&T board.

But, if he is kidding around he's being annoying, and getting me to hate Clarkson

True.. He'd play back-up with the Wolves. Play under the shadow of Melo and Kobe. I think he'd be stupid to pass up Sixers. Hell, Sixers might even be his "OSU" where we can construct a team or system to hide his weakness and put his strength at the spotlight, similar to MCW. For me Sixers is a paradise for any rookie. We give opportunities for lotto players to be franchise players. We give opportunities for long term pro for 2nd rounders.

Plus we focus on teaching here, and Brett Brown has a pristine pedigree for player development.

How much better would it have been for guys like Vonleh or Stauskus to have been drafted by the Sixers?

Still wish there was a way to get Vonleh here. One of my favorite players from last year

#3 for #9,Vonleh, and STephenson gets it done. Draft Johnson at #9 and that is a homerun in my opinion.

I don't want Stephenson any where near this team

That kills the value. No way I would give up 3 to get back Vonleh and whoever at9. I like Vonleh but not that much

I predict Vonleh and Johnson will both be better pros than Russell. YOur other options are #3 for #7 and NYK/POR or if your lucky #3,OKC,MIA for #5 and Oladipo.

Staying at 3 will disappoint. Mudiay, Winslow, and Johnson are the safe picks. IF Mia or LAL had conveyed then you could reach at 3...as it is (Embiid) you need a sure thing.Russell is likely to bust.

Not in love with Russell so I wouldn't be opposed to trading 3 for more assets but, I want someone with upside/star potential. Winslow and Johnson aren't those types of players.

The Orl deal I would do

Good read about Mudiay. Since he's about to come in for a workout tomorrow and not cancel like Russell I like how he seems.

Another thing I notice is that unlike most tall PGs like Livingston or MCW and even Wiggins, Mudiay's dribble is close to the ground making him easier and more natural to change direction, splitting defenders and dribbling in traffic.

I'm not making generalizations with this clip but I thought it's a good example and he does dribble this high. If you notice the dribble is quite high, thus the defender was tempted to gamble for the steal. And things might be different with a longer or quicker defender.

Jonathan Givony says Mudiay is having bad workouts, out of shape and not shooting the ball well.
