Kyle O'Quinn is a RFA though - does Orlando want to keep him?

Re: What Center Do You Want Backing Up Drummond
at the beginning of last year I thought he would be a decent signing but I've cooled off a little bit. he seemed to be doing well in ~18 minutes a game but then finished the season with a bunch of DNP's and only played 10 minutes a game in the games he did play.
it's obviously tough to say why that happened but it's not encouraging, that's for sure.
on the other hand, if we throw $3-4 million at O'Quinn the magic might not match, and then SVG could try to develop him, since he does have the tools.

Re: What Center Do You Want Backing Up Drummond
also, I wouldn't be surprised if we made a play for bismack biyombo at all. he's a restricted free agent coming off of his rookie contract but charlotte is close to the salary cap already (~$66 million if Henderson picks up his player option).
biyombo is only 23 years old despite being in the league for four years already and has improved every year. his defensive presence is significant and although he can't create for himself offensively he has really improved his finishing in the past two years. he fits what SVG likes his centers (at least drummond and Anthony) to do, which is mainly set screens and roll hard, putting pressure on the interior of the defense.
here's a (huge) thread over on the hornets' board about biyombo, most of them think very highly of him: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1240530&start=1880.
i'm still looking at different options but right now i'd be happiest if we got Brandan wright or biyombo as a 'full' backup at $6 million or $8 million, respectively, otherwise i'd want some combination of Anthony, O'Quinn and ajinca. i'll likely be adding to this list but this is what I have for now.

Id sign Wright, Ajinca, Aldrich in that order
Wright will want 7-9M or more so he may be too pricey and I dont know if the Pelicans will let Ajinca go
Ajinca and Aldrich are both 27 and put up decent numbers roughly 5 pts /5 rebounds in 15 minutes
Biyombo would be nice but I cant see MJ letting a 1st round pick just walk away for nothing

I agree re. McGee, but I am curious, do clean shoes have higher IQ s than dirty shoes?

This is the only pick pistons should make or trade down.
8. Detroit Pistons
Frank Kaminsky, C, Wisconsin: It's possible the Pistons are about to lose Greg Monroe via free agency. So they could use a power forward. And Kaminsky, the reigning National Player of the Year, makes a lot of sense in a lineup next to Andre Drummond.
2014 Key Stats
GP MIN/G PPG REB/G AST/G FG %
39 33.6 18.8 8.2 2.6 54.7
Franks a center and you take best player available end of story. SF in draft are all garbage.
If pistons trade down pick this guy : Bobby Portis
PF (Arkansas - Sophomore)
20.3 years old | 6'11" | 246 lbs
2014-15 NCAA (36 GP)
17.5 PPG 8.9 RPG 1.2 APG 30.0 PER

That's my opinion as well. In-spite of the trade for Ilyasova, I'm not entirely convinced that he's the long-term solution to play the starting PF due to his history of inconstancy. I think Kaminsky would be the better solution next to Drummond given that he can stretch the offense more and given he's a solid rebounder.
