ESPN punishing Stephen A Smith for his retrograde remarks would be no different than punishing a guard dog for biting an intruder. Stephen A Smith was hired to say outrageous things that would get people watching ESPN. He fulfilled his duty.

Started watching Daredevil today. Liked the first episode.

What did y'all think of GoT's S5 finale? I was letdown and thought it was a meh season overall.

Please come and tell us the story sir.

I had finished my degree a year early and took a "year off" to figure out what I wanted to do next (bad idea in retrospect). With more free time, I spent a fair amount of time on a Prince website called prince.org. Being a Prince fan my age was not very common, and I got teased all the time for it, so I looked for a community where I could talk all things Prince. Well, I just so happened to meet the love of my life there, despite being skeptical of online relationships given the many that had crashed and burned for friends while I was in college. She lived in Australia, so it was about as long of a distance as the Earth allows.

Flirting on forums turned into instant messenger, which turned into phone calls, which turned into letters, etc. We finally met around 16 months after when she came to visit me in graduate school. We knew then that we wanted to get married, and it was just a matter of working it out. Due to a lot of tragedies in my family, we waited 3 more years before I moved to Australia, getting by with visits to see each other whenever we could have the time and money. I couldn't be happier. :)

Prince finally came back to Australia in 2012, and we bought tickets to the most deluxe seating available for 3 shows. During the first 10 minutes of the first show, I tore my Achilles when I pogo-jumped onto a metal barrier. That didn't stop me from dancing the night away with my weight on the other foot all night. ;)

Our son's due date happened to be Prince's birthday (completely unplanned, I swear!), but he decided to come a few days early. :)

Prince had that groove in the 80's... I'm listening to Dirty Mind right now, what an absolutely fantastic album! :D
(Atrocious album cover though... as is the standard with Prince. :o )

I love his album covers, usually! Dirty Mind does the job well of describing the sound underneath - seedy, raw, and in-your-face.

I will slap both of you. I love me some Prince but... It's Michael. Dude is the only artist that has at least one song known by everyone.

It's down to opinion, but Prince is certainly more of a musical virtuoso. I love MJ, but he's more of an entertainer than a musician. Prince is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more prolific as well.

I think it was a slow season to start with Game of Thrones, but it certainly picked up with episode 8. It delivered irrevocable imagery over the past 3 episodes, so I can't complain. The atonement walk was brutal.

"For the watch." Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I couldn't stop myself from laughing through the whole scene. God I hate Cersei. Surprised we didn't really see Bran. I was hoping for at least a glimpse at what he was doing.

Spoiler:
I know right, I think shock deaths have been overdone in this show.

Other than that, the entire episode was way too convoluted for my liking. And I haven't read the books but there were some character inconsistencies which were annoying.

That's George Martin's MO . . . to a lesser degree in his other series like "Wild Cards" but really came out in the Game of Thrones books. The point is that heroes die just like everyone else . . . only more so because they put themselves in harm's way. He does kill off bad guys too though so it's not just evil triumphant.

There had been a gradual increase in the amount of minutes played by international players from 2005 through 2004. The change from 2014 to 2015 was larger than the previous ten seasons combined.

Rxn to Lance trade seems pretty favorable in most circles. Personally I don’t buy it, and could see it being basically a worse version of the Rondo trade.

I'm going to enjoy the vicious rebounding battles between Lance and Deandre.

Ultimately, they cut 2 years off a terrible contract. At best it works, at worst its a short term loss and they lost Hawes's awful contract. I (and most from the trade board at least) are more confused w/ the CHA part of it.

I can't get past this... 11 media members? How did the NBA come to decide on this random assortment of voters, and why such a small voter pool? I'm not saying it's some travesty that iggy won finals MVP, but it makes you wonder if some of these guys talked to each other beforehand to make sure lebron wouldn't win.

For the record, I would've voted for curry. I just can't help but think a larger voter pool would've been beneficial. It's bizarre.
