I don't want to see KD getting pushed around by Green as that would just end poorly for the Thunder.

Green and Lebron are the players who could be big mismatch for the Thunder in future.
That is why Stanley Johnson is monitored by OKC.
If we speak about GSW, Donovan could send on the floor small ball lineup with Johnson,Durant and Ibaka.
Durant would play stretch four in offense, and in the defense he would guard Barnes. Stanley would be on Green....he is very strong,even heavier then Green.
One more advantage is Serge as stretch center, he would make Bogut to step outside paint area.....space for Russ would be huge.
And if Kerr answers with super small ball(Curry,Klay,Iggy,Barnes,Green), again OKC have the edge, because Warriors would lose rim protector and our lineup can defend everything they send on us.

Bigger problem is Lebron. Wherever he plays, we don't have bodies to throw on him.....Durant,Singler and Roberson can't match his strength, not even close.

Who can guard LBJ? I would love Stanley Johnson. He is a great fit. Its hard to move up in the draft. Especially w/o first round picks in 2016 and 2018. But, they do have Abrines, and Lamb, maybe someone like the Hornets would bite on shooters to move back 5 spots.

Probably will. He has no guaranteed money on his contract. Thunder don't have the roster spot right now and he is 35.... I doubt he comes here.

If he takes MLE money I'd do it. Heck I'd just see if they'd take Dion for him, think it saves a few bucks as well.

The pattern emerges. In years when the Gators were successful — such as 2014 or their championship years in 2006 and 2007 — the guards helped facilitate play, they created for others and spread the floor with superb three-point shooting. Usage rates dipped and others took control. When Florida struggled or fell short of expectations, you could easily point to the guard play and the “gunner” mentality that often disrupted their offense. They used a lot of possessions, they did not shoot very well.

At the college level, coaches very much get to pick the players. These are the kind of guys Donovan chose. Being choosy about NBA opportunities gave Donovan the same opening and which point guard he chose for his first NBA job?

Russell Westbrook.

In many ways, he’s a perfect match for the profile of Donovan’s point guards. His usage rate the past five years has been greater than 30 percent. Those are Kobe Bryant levels of dominating the basketball. This year, his usage rate was a league-high 38.4 percent, a simply astounding number. He shot 42.6 percent this year and has not been better than 44 percent since 2012.

The wont sign him. They would bring Huestis in before Barnes. For the Thunder to add somebody and the #14 pick they would have to cut ties w/ Novak and Jones.

Barnes would be a fantastic addition to this team.
We need a SF option behind KD. Just in case this foot thing continues to be an issue. Given our line up and what Donovan should be able to do as a coach, we dont need a star or superstar, but a guy like Barnes who is fully capable of producing with starter minutes, is a great defender, has tons of PO experience, and can offensively produce and give us a solid 10pt average, would be ideal.
We need more dirty work guys and Barnes would be perfect.

He is 35. That is really old. I don't know if he has another season left in the tank. He will join a playoff contender.

If they don't release him, I'd trade Waiters for Barnes.

I'd rather keep Waiters and see him add onto what he did the last 3 weeks of the season, his FG% from the field and 3PT line.

Barnes struggled with playmakers like CP3 and Griffin on his team, how are we any better? Along with him being 35 years old, he is full of red flags.
