Denver Draft Day Trade...

Post#1 » by GreekAlex » Tue Jun 16, 2015 3:44 am

I was lurking around the Nuggets board trying to get a sense who they wanted to draft and I came across a Denver Post article that said the Nuggets were interested in acquiring the Pistons draft pick but also keeping their pick.

I know they were shopping some of their players at the deadline to go into a total rebuild mode but the only asset they have that makes sense for the Pistons is D. Galinari.

So my question is, If J. Winslow is off the board at 8 would you flip the pick for Gallo?

Absolutely not. He's way too injury prone and about to be in the last year of his contract. Unless we're trading for an established player with several years remaining, there's no reason to trade the pick. And even then, with all the cap space we have, I still don't see much of a reason to trade our pick.

Exactly. Detroit and Denver are pretty bad trading partners on any deal centering around the 8th pick.

I agree... so what could they possibly think the Nuggets could offer for the 8th pick?

There's nothing on that roster I'm interested in trading out of the draft for.

Gallo would be a nice pickup, but he shows 0 ability to stay healthy

Lawson is the only player I'd be interested in, considering his reasonable contract and the fact he has playoff experience.

Could probably play RJ & Lawson together enough to get both 30-35 minutes per.

Don't think it's likely lol

Lawson and Gallinari for Jennings & the 8th. They could probably get more than that for those two guys, though. But still, Lawson's value is lower than his skill set because of his off-the-court problems and Gallinari's value is lower than his skill set because of his injury history. If both worked out it would be a steal. If neither worked out, it would be a grenade going off on our rebuilding efforts.

Hell no. We've got our point in Reggie. We're much better off retaining him and the 8.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Would have to be a 3-way deal where Lawson goes somewhere else and we get a SF

Denver doesn't make for a good trading partner, unless they give us the 7th pick for the 8th. Detroit has no need for Lawson, and Faried is a terrible fit for SVG's offensive system. After that, it's just a poo poo platter.

Awful awful trade. Focus should be on either staying put and drafting whoever is available between Winslow/Hezonja/SJ or trading up, not trading down or out.

What about 3 team trade with Dallas? They want Ty, you guys need SF(Chandler), and you get #21, so you are not out of draft...And, Denver could take on Jennings contract, if we are going to rebuild, we want to lose some games next year, and he would be great for that lol
Something like this:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p89sjzj with #21 going to DET, and #8 going to DEN, but, would you guys give #8 to get Parsons and move back 13 spots?

Kings want Lawson, so what could the Kings offer outside of Cousins?

I think the Kings could come up with an attractive package for Lawson.

Everyone not named Cousins & Gay would be available if Karl had a say
