NBA Finals: Game 5: GSW vs CLE - ABC

What's you guy's opinion of Matthew Dellavedova? Personally, i think that he's a dirty player........I mean, look at this:

I can vouch for this. I never gave the Spurs a second thought until I moved to SA, but that has changed after enduring 15 years worth of eye rolls and exclamations whenever I tell somebody who my favorite team is. I mean, without fail. So at some point it turns into, 'Screw us? No, SCREW YOU." And then when you end up playing them however many times we did in the playoffs, it's that much more heated. So my two favorite teams have been the Lakers and whoever is playing the Spurs in the playoffs.

But that just comes with the territory of pulling for such a hugely iconic and successful franchise. Most of it I can laugh off. For example, I go to Portland all the time, where my sister lives, and I was greatly amused to see a bar there with a sign on the door that read: Everyone but Lakers fans welcome. That's funny to me.

And I must say, if I had to judge Laker fans simply by the majority of the crowd that shows up for games here -- what a bunch of obnoxious douche bags. So it's not hard to see why there is so much animosity here. (SA is about the most low-key, small-town big city you can imagine, and I still almost got jumped at a bar one time for wearing a Laker jersey before the 01 conference finals. Which made the ensuing beatdown that much sweeter.)

Portland and the Lakers have had some memorable battles (regular season and playoffs) and til this day I think their fans chant Beat LA the loudest (better than Boston, better than SF Giants at ATT). From the time Pat Riley benched Magic, Byron and Worthy at a season finale to the 1991 WCF to ruben patterson claiming to be a Kobe stopper to the 2000 WCF to Kobe hitting 2 buzzer beater in the 04 finale, we have had quite a rivalry.

i do wonder why football fans are more passionate in divisional rivals vs NBA. Is it because of the nature of the sport and the types of people watching football vs bball? Most NFL fans i know are very devoted, loyal and passionate while a lot of NBA fans are casual, only like several players and in general a lot of them are soft. I don't think i know too many soft dudes who likes the NFL, not sure if that contributes to fans being more devoted to their own franchise vs in the NBA where you have plenty of fair weather fans or fans who would root openly for other teams.

As for the whole division thing -- utterly and totally meaningless in the NBA. I get football; I'd rather be dead than ever pull for Green Bay or Chicago. But it just doesn't mean much in hoops.

Dunno, might have something to do with the schedule being shorter, and those games meaning so much more.

Meh, i like the warriors

I respect them. That's why it scares me how good this team is already. They win it this year (which still isn't guaranteed) then they may be representing the west for the next 5 to 7 years easy.

The Warriors are everything OKC wanted to be.

OKC/GSW rivals could be brewing in the future if Westbrook/Durant get healthy although the Warriors have way more depths in the wings. The Clippers are also in that conversation.

I don't care if GSW wins, I just want this to be done tomorrow so I can get my 24x7 draft coverage on with a panel of 26 experts at ESPN dissecting everything from Okafor's hand size to Porzingis' daily breakfast ritual for the next 10 days. I need my draft fix when my team is picking #2 overall. This happens rarely in my life as a Lakers fan.
