Jennings for Jordan Hill is the best possible deal we can hope to get at this point. Lakers have absolutely no reason to throw in anything extra. If anything we should be throwing in something extra considering there isnt even a guarantee Jennings can play next season.

Even if he lights it up and does great, who (besides a contender) will want to give up something of value for a PG on an expiring contract?

Would you rather have a late draft pick from a contender in next year's draft or Jordan Hill?

Ill take Hill. 12 pts / 8 rebounds / 1 block in 27 minutes last year

Last year of his deal just like Jennings so literally no risk. And Hill, like any big man, would have much greater value than Jennings at the deadline if we decide to move him during the season next year.

Lock in some cheap picks, renounce the TPE (can you still do that in the new CBA?) and then we'd have more cap space...

If Jennings was healthy that might be something LAL would consider, but no way they pay that price with Jennings coming off a major injury and his future uncertain.

Lakers are under the cap. If we traded Jennings for #27, we wouldn't gain a TPE, we would just gain cap space, right?

That would be extremely useful.

If Jennings is proves healthy, that will be even more useful, since we won't suck on the bench, will have a veteran insurance policy for RJ (and already flourished in our system), and still have his expiring contract as a good player at the deadline.
