Anyone interested in David Lee?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2498982-david-lee-trade-rumors-latest-buzz-and-speculation-surrounding-warriors-forward
It looks like the dubs want to trade him and I think he would be a good replacement for Monroe. Would you take on his contract if the warriors threw in a 1st? What about Barnes + Lee for the #8 pick and whatever else to make the contracts work?

I'm luke-warm on Lee. If they threw in some sweetners, then 'maybe.'

A future first, then sure. Otherwise, I'm not inclined to try and take him for basically free.

I don't see the fit. I've been a fan of his, but I don't see him being the right guy for us.

He would have to backup Drummond to get minutes in all likelihood, not sure how I feel about that, I think the sweetener would have to be to rich for GS.

I ain't helping them keep Draymond, but then I guess we helped Milwaukee keep Middleton so Stan wouldn't let that bother him. But as has been indicated here - we'd need good sweeteners and I sure they could move him for cheaper cost.

Re: Anyone interested in David Lee?
They don't have much sweetener. It's basically pick #30 or their 2019 1st. They've traded their next 4 2nds and their '17 1st (meaning they can't trade '16 or '18 either).
Trading for him takes us out of the running for Harris or Carroll or taking on a more useful salary in a deal, at this point in his career and given their games, I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade of Ilyasova, especially when he takes all our cap room.

Anyone interested in David Lee?
Yeah, you're right. I would not trade for him if it would take us out of the running for someone like Tobias Harris or Demare Carroll.
Chris Sheridan's mock draft came out today and he has Stanley Johnson leap-frogging over Justice Winslow and going to the Magic at 5 while we draft Porzingis.
I would rather have have either:
Stanley Johnson/ Tobias Harris or
Demarre Carroll/ Porzingis over
Barnes/ Lee

Re: Anyone interested in David Lee?
I'd strongly consider Jennings for Lee + #30... We can find a backup 14-18 MPG PG no problem... for them Jennings is a potential backup PG, or worst case a $8 million expiring contract that saves them $7.5 million from the $15.5 million that lee is owed.
Cuts into our capspace big time this summer, but next season we have a ton of space once again to try and pair a player with Dre before going over his QO to sign him to a max deal.

I was going to say absolutely not since their first is so low, but the thought of moving Jennings makes it a bit more interesting. Still, I think we can use our cap space better.

I think they like Livingston / Barbosa as their backup guards just fine and wouldn't mess with bringing Jennings in. Livingston is a really underrated piece for them and had a strong Finals, he allows Curry to play off the ball while fitting into their "switch everything" defense.

Yeah, they ain't moving Livingston, he's been absolutely great for them even though he gets no spot light. Same with Iggy, until recently, for obvious reasons.
I honestly think they have no assets that we can use in the near future, so we're probably awful trade partners.

Re: Anyone interested in David Lee?
I can't see what asset GSW can attach to move Lee if they are unwilling to touch their core.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

They will probably have to take back an overpaid player that fits their team better to get anything done.

I wouldnt mind Porzingis, I've soured on Winslow (seems like he has attitude issues) and Mario has bust written all over him
I'd love to shoot for the moon with Porzingis and possibly find a perfect fit next to Drummond, but I think he goes top 5

Re: Anyone interested in David Lee?
The whole point of GS dumping lee is to get rid of his salary. There is 0% chance they take Jennings and give up a pick in a deal.
Anyway, that ship probably sailed with the trade for ersan. It's pretty obvious that stan loves his game and he's going to be the starter at the 4. The rest of our cap space is going towards a 3 and a backup 5.

Contract, no. Player, no. Fit with Pistons, bad.
