Jay Williams could ball. Not sure he would've been a superstar, but he would've been a proto-Russel Wesbtbrook and a top 10 pg. CJ McCollum? GTFO!!

Maybe Jeff Teague and a top 10 PG? Westbrook wasn't just a top 10 PG this season, he was a top 10 player. Arguably top 5.

It just means he would've been a prototype for that type of player not that he'd be as good as him. Teague is another good comp, though I think Williams was more explosive.

For the record, I went to Maryland while Williams was at Duke. I effing hate Duke with a passion of 1000 burning suns, but we had some great battles and Jay Williams was the dude on that team I feared and respected the most. The rest of 'em can pound sand, starting with Battier.

Russell Westbrook? GTFO!!!

Athletic, score first point guard with range. Not saying he would've been as good, but the style predates Westbrook and there's a lot of similarity. I saw a ton of him in college, still think he would've been a very good pro.

Jay Williams plays nothing like Westbrook. Jay Williams was a too short SG, that benefitted from Duke's 1-in-4 out offensive system. He was over rated in college because Iverson, Baron Davis and Steve Francis were all killing the NBA at the time, as score 1st PGs and people thought he could do what they did. He was athletic, but did not have anywhere near their freakish athleticism. People thought he would be on their level, because he could hit the college 3, but those guys could hit the college 3 too. Jay Williams was a set shooter, couldn't drive to the basket and he couldn't run an offense. He was nothing more than a 6'1 SG, who could hit 20 footers from the top of the key. He seems better than he was because he was a Dick Vitale All-star (along with guys like Jaque Vaughn, Mateen Cleeves, Mike Bibby and nearly every player from UNC or Duke) during that period.

Alright dude, your strongly held opinions are duly noted. Guess we'll never find out, will we? In any case I voted Russel again, he's like a 6'6" Jay Williams bro!!

Westbrook has been underrated for the past 3 years, no idea why people were surprised at the numbers he put up this year...He's been playing at that level for a while, except he's had to share the ball with another stud. Making it to the finals, and the western conference finals a couple times is no small feat.

Westbrook is one of the best players in the league, and if he had a team of his own, he'd be in the MVP race every single year.

Russell, but not by a blowout, and I acknowledge that Mudiay could have a better NBA career very easily.

I selected Russell again. Mudiay just isn't good enough to warrant a #3 pick. He can't shoot (people love to talk about how he can become a good shooter, but that almost never happens), has only slightly above average athleticism by NBA standards (LOL @ comparing Mudiay to guys like Westbrook/Rose/Wall athletically), has an okay bball IQ, is an okay passer, and seems to have mediocre leadership; although, he does have very good size at the pg position. I think he's worth selecting in the 7-10 range, but not before that.

Please add Porgi... His positional/athletic weaknesses are less pronounced than the other two.

Mudiay. He's already shown improvement with his shot and is quicker and faster than Russell noes a better dribbler. He's a hard worker and has proven he can rise up in tough times.

When has Mudiay proved he "rises up" in tough times??

This past season. He got hurt. He didn't mope around and sulk. He just kept his head in the game and stayed ready until he was called upon. He was overseas in a foreign country. Some guys may have outed if they didn't okay when they were healed. He didn't. His teammates loved him and when he finally got the call again in the playoffs he played well considering how much time he missed. He seems like a good leader too. He takes care of his body. We are going to love him.

I think that stuff is overrated. Judging character and toughness by arbitrary examples and hardships.

I'm sure tons of NBA players had hardships and bad strokes of luck they had to fight through to get to the NBA and I'm sure a lot of those guys turned out to be turds or bad character guys. Most of that stuff is just media driven.

Mudiay could be the toughest guy in the world and could be an insanely hard worker, but the whole Nigeria, to America - SMU, to China, back to America thing is just fluff.

If hinkie chooses somebody else I'll do my best to understand hinkie has far more resources than I do when it comes to evaluating prospects and remind myself of this and to "trust the process"...

But I really really want voodoo
