Wade in the finals with Shaq put Jordan and Lebron to shame as far as getting calls.

fatlever wrote:Anyway, I don't even know what the hell you guys are arguing about. I refuse to read through all of it. Seems like a bunch of garbage honestly. But two things I just had to point out, Horace Grant was definitely on the same level of an impact player for the Bulls as Kukoc and Rodman and MJ was the king of superstar calls.

Carry on with your pointless debate that the rest of us will continue to ignore.

honestly i feel so dumb for even engaging in it

Very true. That was the pinnacle of bad officiating. Wade is definitely up there with MJ in terms of getting superstar calls. My list of worst officiated playoff series

1993 - Suns/Sonics
1998 - Bulls/Pacers
1998 - Bulls/Jazz
2000 - Lakers/Blazers
2001 - Hornets/Bucks
2002 - Kings/Lakers
2006 - Mavs/Heat

2014 - Bobcats/Heat

Duke basketball is the Yankees of baseball. Everyone hates them, but they will damn well watch them.

Plus it's one game for all the marbles. That's why I love the NCAA tourney. Its not nearly as good as far as pure basketball for the true basketball fan, but college players in the NCAA tourney, especially the underdogs play with more emotion than pro players could even dream about. That's what makes college ball special especially at the mid major level full of players who will never make it. Off topic.

Before the one and done era, I considered the NCAA tourney to be the best event in all of sports.

The first weekend is still the best weekend in sports in my opinion. Nothing can match the NCAA tourney as far as pure heart break. Not the best basketball in the world, but it's great tv..

I don't know what the most watched basketball game is of all time is, but Duke vs Kentucky would've shattered it.

http://blogs.wsj.com/numbers/about-that-basketball-audience-of-a-billion-393/

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, a television-tracking company, about 89 million people in China watched at least part of the game, the average audience was 37 million. That’s more than tuned in for any game played by Chinese star Yao Ming in the NBA this year, but it wasn’t even the biggest audience for an Olympic event that day: Chinese weightlifter Long Qingquan’s gold-medal victory beat out China’s 31-point loss. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the game averaged 11.5 million viewers, “pretty good for a Sunday morning basketball game,” NBC Sports spokesman Adam Freifeld told me.

Mysterious TV numbers abound in the Yao era. Yao Ming’s NBA debut was viewable on 287 million Chinese homes, the Houston Chronicle reported in November 2002. By 2004, that potential audience had morphed into the actual number of people in China who tuned in. And last November, a game between Mr. Yao’s Houston Rockets and his countryman Yi Jianlian reportedly was going to draw between 150 million and 250 million Chinese viewers; I was unable to track down where that estimate originated.
