Clippers/Bulls/Bucks/Nuggets - Adding depth

Post#1 » by DreDay » Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:36 am

Clippers Trade
Jamal Crawford
C.J Wilcox
2016 Brooklyn 2nd

Clippers Receive
Taj Gibson
Miles Plumlee

Why?
Crawford is expendable with Lance on the team. They can acquire a big who whilst declining and on a long deal, is much better than what they have. Plumlee is a potential backup C/4th big that did not get much burn in Milwaukee so his value does not appear high. They can then use their exceptions to target a wing player or two.

Bulls Trade
Taj Gibson
Tony Snell
Etwaun Moore

Bulls Receive
Wilson Chandler
Jamal Crawford
Jameer Nelson

Why?
Bulls will change their identity to a more offensive, pace and space team with Gibson being expendable. Crawford can be their 6th man and offense off the bench, Chandler is an athletic tweener and Nelson is a solid backup PG.

Nuggets Trade
Wilson Chandler
Jameer Nelson

Nuggets Receive
Tony Snell
2016 Brooklyn 2nd

Why?
Nuggets start the rebulding era and clear a whole lot of money. Snell can be developed more.

Bucks Trade
Miles Plumlee

Bucks Receive
CJ Wilcox
Etwaun Moore

Why?
Plumlee is expendable. They grab Wilcox and a 2nd. Wilcox is a player who rarely played but may offer the Bucks some more shooting that they need if he develops.

Jammer Nelson is opting out of his deal, so that probably kills that part of the deal. The Nugs can probably also do better for Chandler.

Sure.

Denver passes though, I'd think.

Hmm, didn't know that about Nelson. That part isn't terribly important anyway.

I was using the two Afflalo deals Denver made as some baseline of Chandler's value, but yeah this might be a bit low. Maybe if the Bulls toss in a Portland 2nd? The Kings 1st seems a bit too valuable to throw in for their end.

I don't know much about Wilcox, but if he requires development, I'd probably rather keep the big that requires development unless we do something else at center.

How in the world does that package get the Clippers Taj and Plumlee? I can't imagine any of the other teams doing this.

I'd take a 2nd for Plumlee and I kinda like Wilcox, so this is a pretty easy yes from me. Makes sense for the Bulls to me too. Chandler is a better fit to me than Gibson. Mirotic is a 4 in my mind. I may be wrong about that last bit though.

You got me more excited by listing Mason Plumlee to the Clippers when it's actually Miles from the Bucks. Still would be a yes from LAC.

Nelson is opting out of his contract so I'm not sure the Nugs can trade him. Anyway I'd rather see if they can get a mid-late 1st rounder for Chandler. With Malone on board Chandler might even end up staying.

clips getting taj and mason plumlee would be pretty epic, considering the nets aren't a part of the trade lol

but yeah sure, anything to get rid of crawford in exchange for a pretty good 3rd big. i do kinda hate taj's contract runs for two years but contenders can't really take chances in this cutthroat era of western conference basketball.

also not sure nuggets would go for it even though snell is cheaper and a prospect. while i don't think chandler can net a mid to late first rounder (would love to if i were a nuggets fan), i'd rather just start full on rebuild at this point.

Clippers Trade
Jamal Crawford
C.J Wilcox
2016 Brooklyn 2nd

Clippers Receive
Taj Gibson
Mason Plumlee

Bulls Trade
Taj Gibson
Etwaun Moore

Bulls Receive
Jamal Crawford

Bucks Trade
Miles Plumlee

Bucks Receive
CJ Wilcox
Etwaun Moore
2nd

Does this still work with tweaks? Nuggets needed more, but they are better off not participating in this deal.

That might work, but don't see the Bulls just taking Crawford. The Bulls have #22 and a future Kings 1st, but I don't see Chandler drawing a 1st because if he could, he would be gone already IMO. They might be able to manufacture a pick swap or a heavily protected future 1st if the value is too light.

How much developing are you going to get out of a 27 year old? Wilcox doesn't need much development, he's basically just a shooter. I'd take a shot on him.

It's Miles Plumlee, not Mason, but yes, the Clippers would definitely do this. Don't really care much for Jamal Crawford in Clipper land, and Wilcox might be good, but Redick and Lance are on the team, soo...

Clippers need to send out a little more salary, and Denver isn't getting much from this deal
