Re: Mario Hezonja
I would personally stay away unless you truly think his ceiling offensively is a superstar, all-nba team worthy scorer. Having the right attitude matters a lot in the NBA, especially as a wing (teams tend to be more patient with physically dominant bigs).
Competition for wings is cut throat. If you're not an elite scorer, you'd better be either a reliable knock down three point shooter or a versatile defender.
With his personality type, what if Hezonja is Rudy Fernandez all over again? Rudy too was very athletic, confident, and a good shooter. What if Hezonja finds out he can't be "the man" in the NBA, but lacks the patience, discipline and humility to accept a career as a role player or as the irrational confidence guy off the bench? (The latter usually being the best role for the "guy who thought he was Kobe but wasn't")

I am not a Hezonja fan, I personally think he is overrated. But that being said, I think his ''attitude problem'' is very overblown. I yet to see actually evidence about his attitude being an obstacle in any way. He seems content on Barcelona, he accepted a role player/ spot up shooter role well.

Rudy =/= Mario
Character wise, personality wise, even skill wise there are a lot of differences between the two.

Maybe not attitude in the sense of being crazy or a complete cancer, but a certain "ego".
Of course there's good and bad ego.
Good ego is when you think you can be great and work like a madman to get there.
Bad ego is when you think you already are great, and all you need is more minutes on the court to show how great you are.
Not sure which fits best from what I've seen and heard so far.

Hezonja is much more driven than Rudy and he's not as soft as him, Rudy is a diva ingame and he can be that in Real but not in the NBA.

Where would you put rookie Kobe? That's your answer.

Re: Mario Hezonja
It has been said already numerous times, there is no real comparison or similarity at all between Hezonja and Rudy Fernandez, other than they are both white basketball players from Europe.
People saying Hezonja is like Rudy, have without any doubt obviously never once seen Hezonja play a game.

Don't like the Klay comparisons with Mario. Mario is way more athletic than Klay.

Yes they do, I m from Barcelona dude
Difference between cocky and stupid
Hezonja was asked earlier this year if he went to go see soccer legend Lionel Messi play for FC Barcelona. He responded: "Let Messi come to see me." That quote sums him up.
Big wake up call ahead of him, gonna be stuck in his next coach s doghouse

Attitude thing seems to be overblown for me since there isn't really anything tangible to tie back to it affecting him on the court or off it for that matter, seems some people may have an axe to grind saying "attitude" every post to knock him since really it's one of his very few knocks.

When your center runs toward you to punch you during a game, it s a good sign to me that players don't get along. There is no I in team

Skiles actually threw a punch at shaq in practice once, sometimes it happens heat of the moment emotions tend to get the best of you

Game time is a different story, anyway, no chance in hell Orlando draft this guy.

That' was probably just primadonna Tomic being annoyed he was soft in the paint and shifting the blame, as always. Google the pics of the two - I doubt he "hates him". And while we're at these two and talking about Hez's personality, I think NBA teams should be happy that he's not afraid to be the stud and take any challenge given to him. Coming over, he will most likely annoy the veterans, but after a few seasons, only the bleeding hearts will dislike him (a la Dwight-Kobe situation).

Re: Mario Hezonja
is there any chance the Knicks take him at 4? As a Knick fan I would love that. Mario and Melo on the wings with whatever er get in FA.
I proposed this on the Knicks bored and everyone hated it but i still love it. Trade iwth denver lawson and Farid 7th pick for 4th
pg lawson
sg Mario
sf Melo
pf Farid
C Deandre Jordan
I say that team is meeting Cleveland in the ECF
