Curious what the logic is of solo workouts vs. group workouts. Folks here seem to be suggesting that a solo workout should be taken as an indicator of our interest level, but my understanding is that sometimes agents will only let their guys do solo workouts because for whatever reason (injury, bad pairing, whatever) they don't think they'll get as much benefit from a group workout.

I think you could learn more about a player when you see him in a more competitive setting than just doing the same drills by himself without the benefit of watching a scrimmage.

I guess you could argue that if we are willing to accommodate a solo workout then we must be pretty interested, but if that's the only option you get from a particular agent then I don't see it as a big tell as to who we are interested in.

Yep, including Hairston. There was also an all-second-visit group two days before the draft.

Hmm, wonder if we'll see that again.

2013: Zeller
2014: None (Vonleh scheduled but canceled)
2015: Oubre, Stein, Turner

2021: Bouknight, Jones, Thor, Lewis

Protection on future 1st* (to NYK); 2nds
2022: 1-18; CHA (31-55), TOR 2 (55-60)
2023: 1-16; BOS (GH)
2024: 1-14; BOS (GH)

We had other guys workout for us, I do not think the solo workout means much. That is usually agents refusing to have their guys workout versus other prospects.

Yeah with Payne... that's different then against him. Only reason they brought them in was to pass for one another.... It is not like Payne was going against WCS and vice versa.

In a 6 man workout you can look really good or really bad if you can not guard your man or if you can not score on who is guarding you. That is what most agents fear, they are fine with their guys looking good alone rather than bad against a second round guy.

Also, I believe Cho was at the Stanley Johnson workout that he hosted in LA. He talked about traveling to see a few workouts.

He says we have been to LA, Santa Barbara, Chicago and Vegas.

So that would include Kaminsky, Stan Johnson, Kristaps, Oubre, Turner, and more..

Keep in kind that Oubre didn't request the solo workout, that was our doing.
