I'm confident in Cho doing what he can between now and the start of the season to acquire a shooter on the wing. After surprising me with the red carpet rollout to Hayward, followed by the gamble of Lance, I think Cho knows Hezonja is the guy we need. This franchise is usually tight-lipped about any leaks of direction whether it's trade or draft. Hell, the Stephenson trade should remind us of that.

He might not show his hand, but I'd have to assume that he's had talks with the Knicks to gauge what they want to get up to 4. I'd also like to also assume that he's chatted with Sacramento & Denver to see what it would take to get Mario. Not saying it's going to happen, but his pursuit of a dead-eye shooting wing last season, makes me think that he would like to get Hezonja.

If not, I hope Booker can be brought in, and then a trade for someone involving Al, Hendo, or anyone really. Maybe swapping Al for Gordon of the Pelicans, or something along those lines. Cho seems persistent and his failure to deliver the real deal last offseason can't sit well with him.

We shall see. I predict Stanley Johnson.

You might be right. I still remember them saying Cho was at that Arizona-Wisconsin game. Coulda been for Stanley, Kaminsky, or Dekker tho. I think Booker is Cliff's guy like McDermott was last year. Oubre is the high upside guy like James Young that we'll definitely whiff on. While it's down to Stanley or Dekker to be the Cho guy. Idk. I'm just tryna stir something up but this is what's on my mind right about now.

The similarity between Hayward and Hezonja is hard to ignore.

Are you talking as players or our situation with them because I can't see it either way really.

As players, very similar size and skillset.

I guess they are close in size.

Only in terms of shooting. I don't think that Hezonja is nearly the passer.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I can't wait to see Hezzy in the NBA. Lol. I gotta see this for myself.

I think he's a good prospect, but this hype is getting crazy as hell.

I've heard everything from Kobe, Klay, Drazen Petrovic, Rex Chapman, down to Gordon Hayward. I like his cockiness for the entertainment factor. Chad Ford heavily vouching for him is the only comfort I'd have in his game translating but Ford is quick to disregard a prospect he hyped, backtrack, and change his wording. Lol

I think he's going to go #5 and it's going to be a mistake.

Off topic, but on the trade thread it was mentioned trading Kemba and Cody to potentially move up for Mario. Now, I'm not the biggest Walker fan, but if we give that up for him he better damn well turn into a multiple all star.

I don't like that trade at all.

If we offered Cody to Indy for #11, I think they'd do it.

Sacto would take #9+#11 for #6+Stauskas I reckon.

Take Hezonja at #6 if he's the guy we want, if Orlando takes him, we've got some great options at #6 including Winslow.

Kemba+#9+#39 for #4 is the trade I'd try to do if we were willing to move Kemba.

Cho is a great GM, he's not going to give up (young) assets for an unknown like Hezonja imo.

from espn.com this morning:
The Charlotte Hornets own the No. 9 selection in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft and general manager Rich Cho has a plan for that pick. From Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer:

"Much as the Charlotte Hornets need 3-point shooting, general manager Rich Cho wouldn’t pass over a superior player purely to address that flaw. 'We’re going to take the best player available,' Cho said regarding the No. 9 overall pick in the June 25 NBA draft. 'We’re going to address the shooting this summer, but it could be through the draft, free agency or a trade.' The potential candidates for the ninth pick include some good long-range shooters, including Kentucky’s Devin Booker and Arizona’s Stanley Johnson. But Cho said two players would have to be “neck-and-neck” on the Hornets’ draft board for him to sway primarily in the direction of filling a need. The Hornets were last in the NBA in 3-point percentage last season at 31.8 percent. But the NBA offseason schedule works in the team’s favor should they not draft a shooter, with free agency to follow in July."

Trading Kemba and Cody to get Hezonja is way too much. Just giving up Cody is pushing it. I'm willing to give up a future first and 39 for sure. If our front office and scouts think he is as good as a lot of people are claiming then Zeller might be worth it.
