Re: Detroit Pistons Voting Big Board - #5
Tough call.
Muiday is the best player left on the board by a pretty reasonable margin, Herzonja and Winslow are close to each other in quality and both play a position of major need.
Went Herzonja because I believe him to be a better fit.
I don't consider any others worth mentioning, and I'm also not sure we need a board that goes all the way down to 10.

Re: Detroit Pistons Voting Big Board - #5
This is interesting. Hezonja or Winslow. I think Hezonja can be as good as Gallinari and if the competitive spirit is as high as Ginobili's as what they say it is then he could be as good as him, who knows. Winslow will also be very solid, a player that could start on a contender.
I think people overestimate how good a player needs to be to start on a contender. Iggy and Green started and they're not stars. They're just really solid players that have an all around game.
I think one of them will be off the draft board by 8 for sure. I'll take either or. But if both are available, Hezonja has more potential as a scorer than Winslow. He has the athleticism to keep up, just needs the size/strength which I've read that he pretty much has. Either way, I think Winslow and Hezonja are above Johnson and Oubre. I'd love one of them to fall to us.

I picked Winslow but now I want Hezonja. I'll be happy with either but Hezonja's scoring doesn't come often. Winslow might actually drop to us.

I actually didn't vote for Muiday, but I am surprised he is getting absolutely zero consideration from anyone here.
Why is he, who is a top 2 or 3 talent in this draft, getting no consideration since he doesn't play a position of need, but Okafor almost landed the number 3 spot?

Winslow is extremely undersized for a SF and he's not a knockdown shooter either. So why is everyone so high on him???

I actually picked Hezonja, but I totally forgot Mudiay. I like both of them here at 5 since they're both considered potentially elite players. One obviously can shoot, while the other is more of in the mold of John Wall.
If we needed a PG and we never made that Jackson trade, then Mudiay would be perfect at 5. Otherwise it's Hezonja for me.

I think the fact that he didnt play college ball, so he didnt get much exposure is the main reason. playing in China instead of a more established league, and being injured most of the year didnt help.
for me, its that he reminds me too much of Stuckey, fair or not. he doesnt seem to have the elite athleticism that seperates slashers like Westbrook and Rose from the Rodney Stuckeys of the world, from what little ive seen of him.

Hezonja. Great physical tools, pretty skilled already and super competitive.

Mudiay has not been getting any press lately. Heard about him a lot when the draft lottery happened, hardly at all since.

Personally, I've got Mudiay right after Winslow. Mudiay may be a better prospect, but SF is a much stronger need. However, Mudiay's strength as a prospect puts him above Hez or Johnson in my book. I'll be picking Mudiay next, but from the looks of things, he won't be the board's pick.

Voted for Hezonja. I think if he had gone to college in the US he'd be a higher pick. I don't expect him to win in our poll, but I think he will get picked before Winslow on draft night.
