The NBA players are all looking for more money now since they know that the owners can just sell the team and make 2 billion.

There's no more discounts or many cheap Contracts going to be sign anymore unless those players are on their way out. Look how much Bledsoe(Same Agent as Lebron) got paid for just a half a year of actually showing that he can play. That's just the beginning and since Chris Paul ( on team which got sold for a billion) is the President and Lebron is the Vice they are going to make sure the owners pay when the new TV deals come out. There even might be a lockout in 2017 if the players can't get more money.

All in all, Wade to me is just testing the 10 billion dollar Arison.

What a terrible idea. That kind of aggression to force owners to pay tax if they want to win is a dumb idea. All the owners have to do is institute an nfl-like hard cap and that **** stops quick.

There's never going to be a hard cap. And I still believe in 2017 the Cap will go up alot. No worries for the Rich owners tho. The Clips, Mavs, Cavs,Heat and A few others shouldn't be affected much by this since those teams has multi billionaires which is a lot different than teams like OKC that has a multi millionaire. These billionaires just got to prove they want to win and that's by opening up their wallets more.

Cap going up isn't really relevant in this discussion, per se. More so the percentage of cap to player X. Remember the whole motto now is "No more playing for discounts; make the owners pay for talent" or whatever along those lines. So when the cap jumps to +105 million, the percentages are likely to remain the same if nothing major changes in regards to cap next summer...Meaning Lebron and eventually Love & Irving will be eligible for the 30% max if they're free agents during or post-summer 2017. If the owners are this willing to go into repeater's tax to acquire talent, the smaller markets will get hurt again and that would cause yet another adjustment in cap rules proposed by the majority, smaller markets. Whatever is about to happen from all this won't last long. Seems like the players come out on top no matter the direction...unless a franchise tag is instituted. Whole other story there.

If he leaves, he leaves... I'm a Heat fan before a player fan & I know the Heat aren't a penny pinching organization. IMO the Heat only let Wade walk if he's asking for over 20 million longterm, putting our ability to make sure we can lock up a young franchise center at risk. The front office's reasoning for that should be totally understandable for fans considering Wade is on a steady decline while missing 20+ games a year.

It just doesn't make sense to pay Wade ridiculously over the market value at this point in his career. Of course this is where I stand on the issue if Wade is truly asking for over 20m. I don't see an argument in which Wade should get paid like he's in his prime.

Just an FYI, Wade had the 5th HIGHEST EARNINGS for a basketball player in the world last year (endorsements included of course). To act like he's been continuously disrespected and underpaid, etc especially as he's getting older, less productive and missing more time will leave me with a pretty bad taste in my mouth as a fan.

What does his endorsements have to do with the Heat? He himself is responsible for that.

Should my Boss pay me less because i also make money on a side job?

Man reading all this makes me wish Wade would explore free agency so everbody can see if the offers from other teams will be closer to 10 or 20 mil.

Is it crazy to think Wade is a bad fit for the space and pace system the Heat want to implement next season? If so, Deng has gotta go too.

Unfortunately you twisted the point of my post. I was saying that I don't think Wade's market value is over 20m and that I would be OK the Heat's decision to not want to surpass those demands if that was the case. Name me one team that will offer over 20 million to a 34 year old SG who can't shoot from 3, misses 20 or more games a season, and is steadily declining?

I just threw that fact in there for more context about the kind of money Wade has been making, which is tops for an athlete. What does that have to do with the Heat? well it simply shows that he hasn't been underpaid or mistreated in any monetary way to the point where we should buy into a public plea that the Heat might be screwing him over or that he isn't making enough. He was paid a full rookie contract, paid the max he could get paid on a max extension, then took less on his own choice to make a historic team with his best friend (that boosted his brands value btw). The only issue is that he opted out early thinking Lebron would come back. That difference though can more than be made up under 20m a season.

Point ultimately being that I understand Wade's POV in the situation but I also would understand the Heat's reluctance to not want to sacrifice longterm talent like a young top 5 center to overpay a declining Wade who's out of the league in 3 seasons. There needs to be a middle ground & maybe they find it maybe they don't. I'm a Heat fan and won't freak out at them for what they decide is best. Oh and btw I think they end up making work because my point also implies that there won't be many places offering much more than we will.
