I guess this isn't really a spoiler, but a lot of season 3 is going to be set in the Carolina's. I'm not sure if they'll actually be filming on location, but it's going to be pretty cool to see infamous people like Blackbeard in a high budget television show.

edit: The period of the early 1700's when piracy was at its peak in the New World is pretty fascinating if you ever feel like reading some history. Eastern NC in particular was a pirate hotbed with the Royal Governor of NC Charles Eden actually profiting off the trade of goods captured by pirates like Blackbeard. There's a lot of good stuff out there to read, I'll try to put together a list if anyone is interested.

I think it's on Amazon Prime and iTunes. I'm not sure about Netflix, I don't remember seeing it though.

You really should give The Americans a try. It started off a little slow in the first season and in three seasons, I can say that things are just getting better. You'll love it if you're into espionage/Cold War/80's stuff. It's also on Amazon Prime, by the way.

They're now filming Season 3 in Cape Town. Season 2 was also filmed there.

I cannot wait for the 3rd season to start. I enjoyed the 2nd season more than anything I've watched since Breaking Bad.

Just saw its page on IMDB. Based on Treasure Island? I loved that book when I was a kid. Read it multiple times. I guess I could really like this show.

Adding on to Fats's list, The Prisoner and House MD would be in my second highest tier. Hard to determine whether my bias for Lost taints my judgment, but I might put Lost up there as well. I absolutely loved that show, was hooked like an addict.

Yes. I actually came in this thread just to see if anyone else was talking about it. I was disappointed to see it take a break this week. I love these types of shows, i.e., ones centered around some strangely inexplicable intrigue that is revealed bit by bit as the series goes along. I wish I knew about more of them, but I think I've seen most of them already -- going through my Netflix rated list: Lost, Fringe, The Event, The 4400, FlashForward, Persons Unknown, Twin Peaks, Harper's Island, Under the Dome, etc.

I was totally tripping out last episode when they started to really reveal what was happening. I was like "WHAAAAT!?!?!?" OMG, WHAAAAAT!?!??!"

[mind explosion]

It will be fun to see where they go from here.

I just finished season 1 of Twin Peaks on Netflix. Too many people I respect talking about its greatness. So far so good. So many cliffhangers.

Really brings up some memories of when I was younger, in high school. My dad loved shows like Twin Peaks. In fact, I remember him watching that show. I definitely remember him making a comment or two about Sherilyn Fenn back in the day. But damn, I must have been a **** of a son back then, so selfish. I bet there must have been several times when he was trying to watch Twin Peaks on TV (the one main TV in the den) and I would come in and take over the TV to watch random NBA games. I just always thought his TV shows were so boring and dumb and certainly he'd much rather watch the Jazz/Blazers game with me, and like a good dad, he would always let me watch my games. He definitely was not the type to be obsessive enough to break out the VCR and record a show while I made him watch NBA games. And there was no DVR, or On Demand, or Netflix, or Hulu, or torrents to help him catch up on the episodes he missed. Poor guy probably only caught bits and pieces of his favorite shows thanks to me. I deprived him of Special Agent Dale Cooper. I feel horrible.

Found it very funny when Amin Elhassan said on Le Batard's show "the talk of the Vegas Summer League Is how bad True Detective has been."

Has anybody followed it? I only watched the first episode, didn't have the time to catch the subsequent ones and now am not sure whether I want to return to it based on the reviews.

Absolutely loved the first season.

On another note, has anybody seen Last Year in Marienbad? I found it fascinating, wondering whether anyone on here is into old films. I might have expressed my interest in film beforehand, but, yeah, I do enjoy watching old films.

I've started watching Daredevil on Netflix and am really enjoying it so far.

Lots of stuff listed on here that I haven't seen though, going to have to add some stuff to my watchlist.

I couldn't get into the Americans. Deutschland 83 is so much better IMO.

I heard Andy Greenwald from Grantland really pump up that series and say that it's much better than its counterpart, Americans. Might give it a try.

The first episode is good, not great. Then it just zips along ever since so far. The writing and character development is great and it's got a much more 80s feel (great score) than the Americans.

Basic plot: East German soldier is picked by East German spy org to spy on West Germany as an aide de camp for a general.
